Chapter 19

Ellingtons POV

My whole world.... Shattered right in front of me. Riker told me not to come to the house for awhile. I get texts from Ross and Rocky wondering if I'm ok. I never answer. I never want them to think something is wrong.

Ross has been talking about how Rydel hasn't come out of her room and he is worried she ran away again. He also talks about how she cries at night still and that Riker thinks it's because of me. So I locked myself in my dark room. I don't turn on and lights.

Today my mom came and knocked on the door. I didn't answer so she slowly opened the door walked in put the food on my desk and sat next to me. I was facing the wall. She was facing the door.

"Ellington?" My mom said with a worried tone in her voice. "All of us miss you." My mom put her hand on my back. I hesitated on talking.

"All of who? Who could possibly miss me. I drive people away. The love of my life is locked in her bedroom and won't come out.... All because of me. Ellington the freak Ratliff." I said tears streaming down my face.

"You know that the love of your life has been sneaking out her bedroom window every night to come see you. She is waiting downstairs for you. So get up get dressed and go downstairs and talk to her." My mom said. She got up and left the room.

I got up off my bed and got dressed into a shirt that was white at the bottom and faded into white on the top. Then I put some jeans on and converse. Next I went into the bathroom brushed my teeth and my hair. I walked over to my door and slowly opened it. I walked out of my room and slowly down the stairs.

I saw Rydel sitting there playing with her fingers. I slowly walked closer to her. I sat next to her and she didn't even notice. Her head was looking away from me. I moved my hand to her cheek farthest from me and turned her head towards me. She stared at me for a minute. She hugged me so tight and laid her head on my shoulder. I hugged back.

"Why have you not been coming downstairs?" She asked confused.

"Why haven't you?" I said.

"Alright I haven't either but Riker kicked you out I can never forgive him for that." Rydel leaned closer to me.

"Well I hurt your feelings."

"So. Ellington he can't kick you out and think that it will keep me away from you. I love you." Rydel smiled. I couldn't believe that she loves me. Ok she might have said before but I can really tell she meant it.

"I love you too but-" she cut me off by kissing me. Omg this is really happening. She pulled away. I put my hand on her face. She put her hand on mine.

"Now I need you to come with me." She said standing up.

"Why?"

"Riker needs to know that you care."

"Rydel not yet."

"Ratliff." Oh god she only calls me that when she is serious.

"Lynch."

"Ellington this is serious."

"Clearly you are kinda being demanding. But don't get me wrong it's really hot."

"I swear you are so mean! "

"Oh is that so!" I said picking her up and spinning her around.

"Ahh Ell!!" She yelled. I put her down and still had my arms wrapped around her waist. I pulled her closer to me.

"I sure do love you!" I smiled

"Oh the 'l' word twice In a row Ellington Lee Ratliff you are a bad one!" Rydel said sarcastically.

"Oh really!" I said and kissed her.

"Really."

Rydel’s POV

It’s been about a day since I saw Ell. Riker keeps trying to come into my room. Next time I’m gonna let him in.

“Rydel… It’s Riker. I need to see you. Please Rydel. I miss you. I miss my little sister.” Riker said on the other side of the door. I got up and opened the door. Riker looked at me surprised.

“Come in.” I said. He smiled and walked into my room. There was tissues everywhere. Riker looked around and I sat on the bed.

“Look. I know that I sent Ellington away but I did it for you. And in order for me to not feel like I am the bad guy….. I want us to go see Ellington.” My eyes got wide as he said that.

“Riker…. I don’t think that going over there is gonna be a good idea. I am guessing he is torn about you kicking him out. I mean he loved us… I just don’t think so Riker.” I felt like a idiot.

“Rydel facing fears is part of life. We have to talk about what happened. You were dead and he somehow woke you up. I have to tell him how much he matters to this family.” I walked over to Riker and put my hand on his shoulder. He was tearing up.

“Riker he knows. He knows.” I tried to comfort my torn apart brother.

“I just want to make it right.” Riker moved away from me.

“Riker it’s me Rydel. You can tell me anything.”

“I hurt you and I won’t do that again. I just want to fix this.”

“Ok. Lets fix this.” I grabbed my phone and started walking out of my room. Riker followed closely behind. I told my mom where we were going. She nodded and we went to get in the car. When we got in I grabbed my phone and texted Ellington that we were coming.

Rydel: Hey Baby. Riker and I are coming to your house.

Ellington: You. And Riker. Together. To my house. Where I live. I don’t want to die babe.

Rydel: Relax ok.

Ellington: Yeah cause that’s possible.

I looked over at Riker and he smiled. I smiled back. We arrived at Ells and Riker got out I got out as well and walked up to the door. Riker was at least 5 feet away from me. I knocked and Ellington opened the door.

“Riker. Rydel.” Ellington said with a confused look on his face.

“May we come in.” I asked winking at him. He winked back. That was our signal saying act normal. He lead us into the living room. I sat down in a chair and Riker stood behind me like a scared puppy. Ellington sat on the couch across from us.

“Why are you here? Not to be rude but it’s kinda… you know… weird.” Ellington said. Riker kinda stood there wide eyed like why the hell did i do this.

“Ellington we need to talk.” I said.

“Alright… About?” Ellington said.

“Well….” said ……...
