Chapter5- Deep Secrets

POV Wes
    I walked into Maris house. It was the same size as mine and looked like Mari had lived here a long time with pictures of her family on the walls.
    "Want anything to drink" she asked.
    "So water would be nice" I said. She grabbed a bottle from the fridge and tossed it to me. "Thanks" I said.
    "No problem" she said "so what did you really want to talk about?"
    "I. Um." I was trying to make sense of what I wanted to say in my head. You just met her maybe you shouldn't tell her. But I have no one else to tell. "Okay. So I know we just met but. I was just wanting someone to come to when I'm having trouble at home" I said breathing deeply.
    "That's random. What do you mean" she asked.
    "You're right maybe I shouldn't. Never mind forget about it" I said feeling like this was a mistake. I started to walk out and I went to grad the door handle.
    "No wait. Whatever's happening you can trust me. I know we just met but I won't tell anyone" she said. I could tell she meant it.
    "My parents are just hard on me sometimes and it gets ruff" I said. I didn't tell her the whole truth just what she needed to know.
    "I know the feeling. My parents can be hard on me too. If you ever need anyone to talk to I'm right next door. I also have a lot of video games if you're into that" she said sweetly. I just nodded. She goes to hug me and I don't think about it and hug her. Suddenly I feel pain in my side and I pull away holding my ribs.
    "What's wrong" she asked worried.
    "Nothing. I'm good sorry" I said trying to play it off. She doesn't buy it and quickly pulls my shirt up at the side.
    "Is this the problem at home" she asked looking at about five bruises. I nod shamefully. "I won't tell anyone but you can stay here if you want. My parents will be gone for a few more days" she said.
    "Really" I asked almost to happy.
    "Yes go get some clothes and you can stay in the extra room next to mine" she said.
    "Thank you so much" I said picking her up and spinning her. Her face is close to mine as I slowly let her slide down my body. Our eyes stayed there. I could have stayed in that moment for hours.
    "No problem. Now go get some clothes" she said breaking the silence "is cheese pizza okay for dinner?"
    "Yes sounds great" I said walking out of the door. I happy I got to tell Mari what was happening at home. Now if only I knew what was happening with Mari and me. Once I got back we play video games and ate pizza for hours. After that Mari turned on Dr. Who and after a while she laid her head on my shoulder and fell asleep. I was so happy in that moment I wanted it to never end but I know it will.
