Chapter 8- New Friends

POV Mari
    I was sitting at lunch talking with the girls. So far our plane has been working pretty okay. I suddenly get a text. I pull out my phone and see it's Wes. I look over at him and he smiles at me.
Wes- Hey can you and the girls meet us after school behind the building?
Mari- Why?
Wes- We want to apologize. I know you guys won't believe us but it's true. Please trust me.
Mari- Okay we'll be there.
Wes- Thank you so much. Do you think after we can hangout?
Mari- Yeah sure. 
Wes- Awesome see ya.
Mari- Later
    This is weird but I tell the girls.
    "I don't know Mari. It could be a trick" Boze said.
    "I know but I think we should still go. If it is a trick then we run to my car and get out of there" I said. They weren't sure I could tell. After a few minutes of silence Courtney speaks up.
    "I'll go. Maybe they've changed" she said.
    "Okay I'll go to. But if something happens I'm getting back at them hardcore" Olivia said and we all laughed. We look at Boze waiting for an answer.
    "Okay okay I'll go" she said finally. We finished eating and walked to our next class waiting patiently for the end of the day.

A few hours later
    Finally it was the end of the day and we were going to meet up with the boys. It's going to be weird but I think it'll workout. Maybe now I can tell Wes how I feel. As I meet up with the other girls we're quite. The only noises there is while we walk is the sound of the wind and trees. We see the boys and Courtney stops.
    "Okay I think this is a bad idea let's just go get frozen yogurt or something" she said. I walk up to her and take her arm.
    "It'll be okay. You can do this" I said and we continued walking. We got to the boys a few of them sitting on the ground the others standing. The ones sitting got up quick. "You wanted to talk to us" I said as confident as I could.
    "Yeah we want to apologize. We had no right to treat you bad. We want to start over and be friends" Anthony said putting his hand out to me. I took it slightly scared but we just shook hands. He shook the other girls hands and go to Olivia. There was a slight pause as the shook hands. The other boys said sorry hugging or shaking hands. It was nice. We talked for about an hour or two then left.
    "Mari wait up" Wes said running up behind me. "Do you still wanna hangout?"
    "Of course. My parents are working late tonight you can come over" I said. We hop in our cars and drive home. Once I get there I wait for Wes to walk over from his house. We walk in and sit down. After about an hour of playing video games Wes says something.
    "Mari I need to tell you something" he's said looking at his hands.
    "What's up Wes" I said looking at him. His eyes met mine. His eyes are so full of life and warmth.
    "Mari I....."

Cliff hanger. I love a good cliff hanger. Also this book is doing great for it being my first one. Thank you all for reading.
