Chapter 10

I finally pull up to my house and see a big black truck by the side walk. I walk in to hear laughter from the living room and the smell of my mom's chocolate chip cookies, so I know that we have guest. "There goes my baby" my mother says as I try to creep past the living room as quietly as I could. "Come here dawn, these are the carters. Your father and I've been knowing them for many years and they have just move down the street" my mom said as I shook their hands. " Oh my, is this dawn. You look so grown now, last time we seen you, you were 4 years old" Mrs. Carter and Mr. Carter gave me hugs. I became uncomfortable but I still engage in conversation."Oh, so you guys just moved here" I question. "Actually we lived here for a year but I just got transferred to your mothers hospital " Mrs. Carter says. "And you" I ask Mr. Carter. "I'm a registered nurse " Mr.Carter said. This man was beautiful and he looked like a body builder and all my mind could do was wonder. " Dawn do you like kids" Mr. Carter asked breaking me from my day dreaming. "Ugh.. yes sir" I say trying to keep my composure. " We have a 5 year old and an older son but he plays sports and has a job and we need a babysitter because of all of the overtime and the late nights and if you don't mind, would you like to do the job" Mr. Carter said waiting for my answer. "Um of course, just let me know whenever you need me" I say remembering about Angelo. "Well excuse me but I'm suppose to be going to the center to play basketball in a few and I have to get changed, hopefully I'll see you guys soon whenever you need me to babysit" I say trying to go upstairs. "My son is going to the same place. I'll call him to come pick you up" Mrs.Carter says but before Dawn could stop her, her son already said he was on the way. "Okay... so I guess I'll just go change" Dawn said wishing she could just drive herself. After 30 minutes, dawn is ready and wearing her athletic shorts and her basketball shorts in case the game gets serious. She had forgot about her ride until the bell rung. "Dawn your rides here" Dawn mother says before running into the kitchen to get more cookies out of the oven. Dawn come down the stairs and it seems like she had saw a ghost.
