"Dang bruh, you trying to give everyone whiplash" Brad said making me laugh. The silence and the tension in the car honestly made me uncomfortable. I cleared my throat and said " I live on the next block over I can walk from here". "No, I'll drop you off in front of your house" Angelo said finally driving again. "Hey, I didn't know you lived in this neighborhood. I live on the street right behind you, like my house is literally behind yours" Brad said with a shocked expression on his face. "Really, that's crazy I knew you looked familiar" I said. "We can hang out and have dinner at each other house and everything" He said really excited. "Okay we're here, see you at school tomorrow"Demetrius said. " I'll see you in the morning" Brad yells before I close the door. Angelo gets out and walks me to my porch. "Why would he come over here in the morning" he asked. "I told him we can go to school together until he gets his car" I say as I stare up at him. Angelo rolls his eyes and said "mmhm". I chuckled and say "he's cute and seems harmless. I'll be okay". "I'm not cute" Angelo said while poking his bottom lip out. "Shut up, anyway thank you for today I had a great time" I said happy to had made more friends. "Your welcome, I'd do anything to make you smile. Next time do you think we could hangout just you and me.. maybe.. one of these days.. like next wee..". I grab his hand to stop him from babbling and say "yes, I would love to". I go into my house and as I close the door, I lean my back against it and took a deep breath and smiled from ear to ear. Did that just happen, was I just asked out on a date, does he like me? All these questions clouded my mind. As I'm thinking my eyes fell upon a small sheet of paper on the table. It reads "As you know, your father and I anniversary is Thursday so we went on vacation and will be back next week. We'll have Mr. and Mrs. Carter and their son Isaiah check on you from time to time. We love you and will see you when we get back". What a way to ruin such a almost perfect day.
