The Hurt {On Hold}

Chapter 5

Daisypaw walked over to her brother Featherpaw. He looked stronger now. The training really did do him well. Maybe he would teach her?

Daisypaw gulped and said, "Hey brother, can I talk to you alone?"

Featherpaw glanced back at her and said, "Yeah, sure what do you want?"

Daisypaw flicked her tail for him to follow her. He seemed confused, but went with the roll anyways.

"I want you to teach me how to fight," she said silently.

"What?" He said confused.

"So I can protect the nursery," she said hoping that her reason sound real.

"Oh, sure. Yeah I can, tomorrow at sunrise meet me at the dirtplace, I don't think they'd be convinced that we should train she-cats how to fight, but you do have a good reason," Featherpaw said as he walked back into the clearing.

Daisypaw sighed and saw that the sun was going down. She yawned and went over to the prey pile. She heard Ravenstar announce that the camp was going to be guarded by two apprentice, Slatepaw and Redpaw. She rolled her eyes and went to her nest. She laid down instantly and fell asleep.

Daisypaw woke up by the sound of someone hissing her name. She remembered what she was suppose to do today and got up instantly. She carefully stepped over the other queens and kits.

Daisypaw went into the dirtplace and saw Featherpaw. He had moved away the thorn bush she had put their and he flicked his tail for her to follow.

Daisypaw followed him out into the forest, she could never forget how the forest's crisp smell was like. She stilled followed Featherpaw to a clearing in the forest.

Featherpaw glanced at her and said, "Let's learn the simple claw swipe. Claws sheathed,"

Daisypaw nodded and sheathed her claw and ran at him and swipe down his chest.

"Hmm...good, but if it's a fox or badger in the camp aim for the throat, it's the easiest way to know the won't come back, but you may not be able to do that so the back is the next big thing," Featherpaw said.

"I'm going to show you the leap and hold technique, it's for smaller apprentices like us. You can't demonstrate it on me, because I'm about the same size as you, so let's find a stump," he walked over to a stump in the middle of the clearing.

"Leap on it!" He commanded.

Daisypaw saw how huge the stump was, but she gather her courage and went around it and tried to leap, she unsheathed her claws to try to climb up it, but it was too big.

"That was kinda sad," Featherpaw said.

Daisypaw rolled her eyes and said, "I'm not a good climber, I just not used to such big cats,"

Featherpaw chuckled and said, "I mean if I saw a cat that big, I'd run away into a tree,"

They both started laughing at the joke that Featherpaw had made.

"What's going on here?" A voice asked.

Daisypaw looked around Featherpaw to see, a dark grey tom.

Featherpaw glanced at Daisypaw and said, "We were just walking around, I mean we're siblings after all,"

The dark grey tom narrowed his eyes at Daisypaw. "Well, I guess that's not in the warrior code, but how dare you come out here without a warrior!"

Featherpaw gulped and said, "Sorry Stormbird, I just thought people would make fun of me for going out with my sister,"

Stormbird sighed and said, "Most toms here have sisters and just chat with them in camp, this is the first time I've seen them out of camp together,"

Featherpaw bowed his head as if apologizing.

Daisypaw confused did the same thing and Stormbird seemed happy.

"I accept your apologizes, I just hope I never find you out here again without a warrior, now let's go back to camp," Stormbird said as he flicked his tail for them to follow.

Daisypaw felt very bad and whispered to Featherpaw, "You can have my meal if you want,"

Featherpaw smiled at her and whispered back, "No need, I'm glad I did this. Showing that siblings have a very strong bond,"

Daisypaw mouthed 'Thank you' and continued following Stormbird back to camp.

A/N I know this isn't such a big plot chapter, but I wanted to get it out before tomorrow. I hope this is a long enough chapter. Also how long should she be an apprentice for? I was thinking seven chapters, but I'm not sure.
