Chapter 10

"You shouldn't just run off like that (y/n)" Hanabusa sighed as we walked into the dorms. "Lord Kaname said that he would talk to you in his room, he should be there by now." He said as he took his leave. I continued to walk up the stairs and past my room, following onto Kaname's room.

I quietly knocked on the door and heard a small 'come in' from the inside. I opened the door and walked in to see Kaname standing there. "You wanted to speak to me Kaname." I said to him a bit concerned as to what he wanted to talk about.

"Yes, I know that you're confused about this whole situation that's happening. From this, I won't place any severe punishments on Senri." He explained. I thanked him and hugged him. "Can I ask you something." I asked him. He nodded, telling me to continue. "Well, who exactly is Shizuka Hio?" I asked him.

He paused for a second before he answered. "That woman is a pureblood vampire, much like us. I don't want to get into the details about her but, she killed Zero Kiriyu's parents and twin brother. Not many people talk of her after the Kiriyu family's murder and I would prefer if you don't mention her again." He explained. My eyes widened as I thought about what Maria told me earlier.

'all you have to do is kill Kaname for me, or you could awaken your real self.'

"(y/n)? Are you alright, you spaced out." Kaname asked me. "Uh, yeah. I was just thinking about something." I answered a bit uneasily.

"Okay then, I guess I'll be going now. I'll see you tomorrow, bye Kaname." I said happily as I walked out.

When the door closed kaname's facial expression grew to one of worry and anger. "What have you done to her Maria?" He muttered as the glass windows covered themselves in cracks and were on the verge of breaking.

Back in my room, I took a quick bath and got changed. I walked out of the bathroom to see Ruki standing on the balcony. "Ruki? What are you doing in here?" I asked him slightly surprised at him being in my room at this time.

He turned towards me and smiled in relief. "I'm glad you're safe." he walked up to me and held his hand on my cheek. "Ruki, what are you doing?" I asked him in a worried voice. "You see my dear, there have been a few complications in my plans, and that's because of you."

When he said that I knew it wasn't Ruki. If he was talking about a plan, I have no doubt that I know exactly who it is.

"Karlheinz?" I questioned myself as I said that. "How could you tell." He said as 'Ruki' slowly turned into the man that I had always hated to look in the eyes. "What do you want, are you going to take me away from my family again?" I said sarcastically. He looked at me with a grin creeping on my face.

"Why don't you trust me?" He pouted and sat on my bed. "well, I don't know, maybe the fact that you took me away from my parents and made me think i was apart of your family for majority of my life, only to realise that it was only for an experiment. Just leave me alone, and take you family with you." I whisper-yelled at him.

He just laughed and continued to talk. "you don't know the reasoning for me being here yet." He said mischievously. I only stared at him and was about to walk out of my room. "I came to give you this." he held a small bag filled with something, but I couldn't see it. I took it out of his hands and saw what looked like a necklace. It reminded me of something I saw last time he was here.

in the flashback I had last time when I saw my mother. She was wearing the same necklace I was now holding. "H-how did you get this." I stated in shock and confusion. "It's a little gift I found when you family, left."

I gripped the necklace in my hand as tears threatened to fall from my eyes. "What do you mean by, left" I said to him. "You'll see in a second. I'll be going now, have fun." He laughed and left the room.

I flopped on my bed and stared at the necklace I held above my face.

Just then my head throbbed with a familiar pain. my vision went black and all I could see was my mother, father and an unknown figure. They were fighting. "We won't let you take her away from us, Rido!" Mother yelled at the man.

Most of the fight was a blur but I saw what happened at the end, Rido defeated both my mother and father. I tried screaming for them but it did nothing. I watched as they died in front of me and then my vision went black again.

When it came back, I was still staring at the necklace and I held it close to my chest. I needed to know what really happened. I wiped my tears away from my eyes and walked out of my room, back to Kaname's room.

I knocked on the door and stood there until it opened. "Y/n, What's wrong. Why have you been crying?" He asked in so much worry. I looked up at him. "Is it true, are our parents really dead?" I cried into his chest.

"What's gotten into you lately." He said and pulled me away. "Answer my question." I sniffled. "yes, its true, they died a few weeks after you were taken." he said sadly. Silent tears fell onto my cheeks and clutched onto the necklace harder.

Kaname must have noticed that because he took my hand and took the necklace out. He looked at it in both happiness and sorrow. "Mother kept saying how she was going to give this to you when you were older." he laughed to himself. "You were always trying to pull it off of her when the two of you were playing, you were always such a playful baby." he said happily, even though I could still see painful sadness in his eyes.

"Thank you for telling me this, I'm also sorry about waking you up and reminding you of this." I apologised and got the necklace off of him. We said goodnight to each other and I walked into my room.

I finally fell asleep, still holding my mother's necklace.
