Chapter 17

I woke up feeling nothing. I felt emotionless. It felt like I was under some kind of trance, but I didn't care. I just stared blankly at the two in front of me.

"Why...didn't anyone stop me?" I asked myself quietly while sitting on the floor. I heard footsteps approach me and I looked up to see who it was. I quickly moved back when I met his gaze. "What are you doing here?" I spat towards him.

"And hello to you too." Karlheinz chuckled before me. He crouched down to meet my gaze and smiled.

"Just how many times have you been lied to y/n." He said with curiosity. I only frowned a him as my anger rose. I could feel the ground beneath me hate up, almost as if it will erupt underneath me. I looked past Karlheinz and saw Carla and Shin, they were talking about something but I couldn't hear them.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you. " He said as if knowing what I was about to do. "Shut up." I coldly spat at him.

"Why do you keep showing up, every time you do, something bad happens to me. So tell me, what do you want with me." I stood up and looked down at him. "Are you the one who caused this to happen to me?" I asked him and walked out of the room.

Surprisingly, no one followed me as I walked out of the building I was in. Not knowing where I was, I kept walking and looked for a signal of where I was, I know I can't be far from the academy.

I kept wandering around until I saw a figure. He noticed me and I froze on the spot. How was I going to talk to him?

He began to walk up to me and stopped in front of me. He looked me in the eyes and stared at me in worry.

I could feel something coming back to me, my heart began aching and I collapsed on the ground, crying. Kaname immediately went to my side and lifted my head to meet his gaze.

"Why? Why did you lie to me? Why did you hide the thing I wanted to know the most from me?" I sobbed uncontrollably. He remained quiet as I kept crying.

"I thought you of all people would be honest with me, but you just turned out to be one of the others that lied to me." I yelled while punching him in the chest.

After my yelling, screaming and crying, I had finally calmed down. Kaname stood up and helped me up.

We began walking back to the academy and Kaname spoke through the silence, "I didn't tell you because I knew how it would tear you apart to realise what you did to them." He said blankly.

"Aren't you mad at me? Just thinking about what I did should make you at least a bit angry?" I asked him and he stopped walking. "I know it wasn't you that did it. That's why I promised to stay with you and to protect you." He said with a small smile.

"That's what a big brother does, right?"

We reached the moon dorms and had walked into the foyer. I saw everyone with a worrying look until they saw me.

The whole stampede of people ran up to me and hugged me. I was taken back from the way everyone was reacting but soon let the group hug continue.

Once everyone had let go of me, Kou walked up to me. "You really had all of us worried. What even happened to you?" He asked. I was about to answer when someone interrupted us.

"Kou! You better not be flirting with y/n!" Subaru yelled and walked up to us. I quietly laughed at his statement. He really acts like a brother, all of them do.

"Don't worry he wasn't. Just asking what happened." I responded. He gave Kou a glare before staring back at me, he looked like he was thinking about something.

"what did happen, you seem different than before." He said. I opened my mouth to respond, but before I could say anything Kou gasped. He pushed Subaru out of the way and held my mouth open. "When did these come back?" He asked me, obviously shocked and pointing at my teeth.

By now, he has gotten the attention of everyone in the room. "Y/n, does this mean?" Laito spoke up. I finally got Kou to let me go and looked at them.

"Yes, that means I am a vampire again." I answered all of their questions. I looked at everyone, they all had a shocked expression with their mouths gaping open. I laughed at them and began to walk upstairs.

"It's been a long night, I think I'll go to sleep. See you guys tomorrow." I said to them and walked up the stairs, down the hallway and into my room.

After a calming shower, I got changed and stared at myself in the mirror. "So everyone must have been really used to me being a vampire" I muttered to myself while letting my fangs slightly pierce my bottom lip.

I walked out of my bathroom and laid on my bed. When I was about to sleep, I heard a soft knock on the door. I got up and opened the door to see Akatsuki standing there.

"Yes?" I asked him. He took no time at all to respond to me. "Because of everything that has happened, lord Kaname has ordered me to act as your security for tonight. I'll be right outside if you need me." He explained to me. I simply nodded as a response.

"Alright, I'll make sure to call for you if I need anything." I assured to him and closed the door, returning to my bed and finally getting a good nights rest.
