Zuri
---------
I was ready to go rock-climbing. It looked like a lot of fun! I saw Lauren and she was looking somewhere off into the distance. I followed her eyes and saw Lou. "Oh hey Lou!" I called. She saw me and gasped looking down.
"Oh hey Zuri!" She said awkwardly. Something was wrong.
"How DARE you?!" Lauren suddenly yelled. Lou looked at her confused and she gestured towards her shirt. Now I saw it. Her shirt read in big white letters "WEASEL"
"I can explain!" Lou yelled.
"Go ahead!" Lauren stormed. "Explain how my story was too much for you and how you need to take a break from me!" Lou's eyes widened as if she'd been caught. "I overheard you and Emma talking. You're nervous around me because I have depression is that it?" I'd never seen Lauren this mad before. She was screaming at Lou at the top of her lungs.
Lou but her lip and looked down. "Yeah," Lauren whispered and ran away.
"Wait! Lauren!" I called. I started running after her but Griff stopped me.
"Wait," he said. "I need to talk to her. She thinks I'm the only one who understands because my parents abandoned me." I nodded and let him go. I saw Lauren's figure run into Woodchuck with Griff following close behind. I looked back and Lou with a bitter face. She just frowned and walked into the rock-climbing counselor's little room. Lauren was right. Lou was being ridiculousGriff
---------
"How could she?" Lauren sobbed.
"I don't know," I started. "She just-"
"No!" Lauren yelled. "This is so stupid!" She kicked the wall and sat down on the floor with her head in her arms. I sighed and slid down next to her. "I should've never told you guys about my depression," she mumbled into her arms. I shook my head.
"No it wasn't a big deal. It's just that for some reason Lou saw it as a big deal." Lauren sniffed and brought her head up from her arms.
"I mean, it's fine to be uncomfortable, but to switch cabins?!" She screamed. An echo rang through the room. She took a deep breath. "It's all my fault." She put her head in her hands. I wrapped my arm around her.
"It's ok. Lou's stupid. Just ignore her."
"Wow Griff you clearly don't get it!" She pushed me off of her. "I know how to ignore people! I was bullied, taunted, and ridiculed my whole life!" She sighed. "It's just that... I really liked Lou. As soon as I came to camp she welcomed me and made me feel at home. She was like an older sister to me." I nodded. "And now she does this to me." I didn't know what to do so I nodded and pretended I understood what she was going through... even though I had no idea what it was like.Lauren
-----------
I spent the rest of the day sitting with Griff. I didn't cry the whole time. We talked, told stories, and even played a few games and planned how we'd trick campers out of their candy. When it was time for dinner, I tried my best to avoid Lou. Before we left the cabin, Emma told us that Lou just needed a break and she would be helping out in Weasel Cabin and we got Hazel.
I couldn't believe Lou hated me that much. She left me with Hazel. I sat with my normal group, but today they were being really nice to me. I appreciated it, but it just reminded me of what was going on. Griff was giving me candy that he ordered online, Tiffany was telling me how funny, and pretty, and smart I was, and Zuri didn't make one rude remark the whole time.
At one point, I got up to get water because it was too much kindness for me to take. I was grabbing a cup when I felt someone tap on my shoulder.
"We need to talk," they said. I quickly flung around and saw Lou...A/N- Aahhhhh, ok the next chapter is going to reveal something really really big so make sure you're ready for it!
