Lauren came to the lake with us and told us everything. "Wow, I still can't believe it!" I exclaimed. Lauren nodded.
"Me either," she sighed. She looked at Zuri and Tiffany. "Do you guys mind if I talk to Griff alone for a minute?" They nodded and walked away.
"What is it?" I asked. She took a deep breath.
"How did you feel when you got adopted by the McCormicks?"
"Ecstatic," I replied immediately. "I mean, it was my first time with a real family. It was the best day of my life." Lauren sighed and walked over to the dock.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
"It's just..... I feel like I should be happy, but I just feel sad and confused." I didn't know what to say. Of course she was confused. She just found out her counselor is her sister. I just didn't know how to explain this to her.
"Well it's different for you than it was for me. Don't worry, you'll get used to it soon," I assured her. She nodded and sighed.
     "It's just so weird for me..." she trailed off and put her head in her hands.
"Well, tomorrow's visiting day!" I reminded her. "You'll meet your parents and you can decide what you'll do. You're excused from tricking kids out of their candy," I laughed trying to lighten the mood. She giggled.

I forgot about visiting day. I wasn't sure if I was excited or nervous. I guess I would just go with the flow and see what happened.

The next morning, Lou was up early waiting for our parents. She stood outside the door while I sat with Emma and Zuri. I was excited to meet Luke. I heard a lot about him and he seemed really cool. Actually, I was more excited to meet him than I was to meet my parents. I know it sounds stupid, but I was one of those kids who ran from my problems.
     Since I was little, I've always tried to face my problems. It wasn't that I wasn't brave, I just couldn't. Emma was really supportive during this whole experience. She always made sure to talk to me and make sure I was ok. She's really nice. Oo, now I'm just stalling. The truth is, I'm really scared for visiting day! I don't know if I'll be able to talk to my parents without puking.
