The next morning, Laur and I woke up early so we could drive to an appointment with our lawyer. Zuri insisted on coming to breakfast with us.
The dining hall was completely empty expect for us and Gladys. We walked in to see her with a mug of Cheerios. "Oh hi Lucy," she said to Lauren. "When are you leaving?"
"It's Laur, and in a few hours," she responded.
"We'll be back next Wednesday Gladys," I explained. I heard a faint voice coming from outside.

Griff

"Lauren! Lou! Zuri!" I called running to the dining hall. Lauren looked up and smiled.
"Griff!" She called and stood up. "What are you doing up so early?"
"I wanted to say goodbye. Xander let me come."
"Griff likes Lauren," Zuri whispered in my ear. I jabbed in her the ribs. "Ouch!" She winced giggling. Lauren looked at her confused.
"Anyway, I'm really going to miss you Laur!" I exclaimed.
"I'm gonna miss you too!" She hugged me and sighed. "I'll be back in nine days," she assured.
"It still seems so long!" Zuri groaned hugging her. Lauren grabbed her tightly.
"Lauren it's time to go," Lou said as she looked at her phone. "Mom and dad are waiting at the car."
"Ok," Lauren sighed. "One last hug goodbye?" Zuri and I nodded and joined in a group hug. "I'll miss you guys," she whispered in my ear.
"I'll miss you more," I whispered back. "Hey, um, before you leave, can I tell you something?" Lauren nodded looking at me nervously. "Well, you're just such an amazing, inspiring girl. I've felt this way about you since you got here..."
     "Griff," Laur interrupted me. "I know." I felt a wave of relief fill me along with more nerves. She stepped closer to me. "I like you too." And with that she planted a kiss on my lips. Best moment ever.

We walked to my parents car with Zuri and Griff. I packed my bag into the trunk and got into the car. Zuri and Griff were jumping up and down waving. Lou and I sat in the back while my dad drove and my mom was in the front seat.
The car started driving away. I watched as my friends waved and Camp Kikiwaka shrunk into a blur....
