Savannah's POV
The wind blew through my hair and if a stranger saw me now they'd probably think that I was a model.
Yeah right, like the universe would allow that.
Strands of my hair got in my eyes and a few strands got in my mouth. I made a spitting sound as I tried to get the hair out, causing Cameron to laugh.
"Haha very funny." I said, sarcastically while he still laughed.
It was a bit foggy and all I could hear were the chirping of crickets, the hooting of owls and the crumpling sounds of dry leaves that the foot steps of Cameron and I made as I followed him to wherever the so called location he found was at.
He finally stopped and said "Look,"
"Look at what," I said, confused by what he said.
"This," He said, directing his hand at the view before me.
"You didn't have to tell me I have eyes,"
"You weren't even-"
"Shut up," He groaned at me and just looked away.
Good boy.
I stared at the dark sky and the bright full moon and then my eyes took in the amazing view. The trees slightly bent over the small pool of water at the center as if it intended to provide shade for it. The night sky illuminated the scene quite nicely and the stars sparkled in the water. It was beautiful and it made me wonder how Cameron had been so lucky to find such a place. One would have passed it by naturally assuming it was another part of the forest without closely examining it. It was captivating and simply breathtaking, like a diamond in the rough.
"It's amazing," I said to the dark haired boy as I took in the beauty of the the view in front of me. I took my camera and got in the right position and began to take pictures and some were perfect, no they were all perfect . It was already late and it was a school night therefore I couldn't edit them tonight.
As soon as I finished taking pictures I was ready to go but something didn't feel right because it was silent...too silent. I looked around me and it was then I realized that Cameron wasn't here.
"Cameron!" I called out. Unfortunately for me I got no reply, my heart skipped a beat I was nearly in a state of panic.
"Camera..." my voice shook a little as I searched for him. "Quit playing games and get your little ass out here!"
"Cameron!" I was about to turn around and it was then I felt two hands wrap around my waist, I turned around and it was Cameron.
Thank goodness.
"Missed m-" Before he could finish I yelled.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?!" I said, hitting and kicking him everywhere.
"I'm-oww I'm sorry." he yelled as I hit him.
"You should be." I stopped then frowned.
I actually wish he didn't take his hands off me because I actually liked them around me. It made me all mushy inside.
"Done?" I nodded. "How were the pictures?"
"Great. Thanks for bringing me here," I said with a low tone.
"It's no problem really." he stood behind me as we both looked into the night sky in silence but then I felt that familiar emptiness all over again.
I looked behind me in fear for the second time tonight and turned around only to meet the thing my nightmares probably had nightmares about with glowing eyes, one eye was a deep red color and the other was golden yellow and I didn't even think twice before I let out a scream and started running.
I heard growling sounds from the monster that was chasing me and I tried as hard as I could to pick up my pace but I could only pray to come out from this forest alive. I've been running for God knows how long and unfortunately for me it wouldn't be long till my legs gave out.
I could barely see now. This part of the forest was way too dark and I lost my flashlight a while ago while running, still that didn't stop me from running. I slipped my fingers into my back pocket for my phone. As I ran I turned on my phone and swiped up the bottom of my iPhone to put on my flashlight. I did that successfully and internally praised myself as I ran further into the forest. Unlucky for me, I tripped on something which I'm guessing was a rock which cause my phone to fall out of my grip. I left it even though it hurt so bad but my life is more important so I kept running and then I almost fell once again but didn't and I thanked the heavens. I kept running and I don't know what I tripped on again but I'm guessing it was a log and well that did stop me.
I fell in the blink of an eye and as I tried to scramble back up from my position on the ground so I could get the hell out of here, it turns out that the monster or creature or thing that was after me had other plans. It all happened and before I registered what was occurring, it attacked me before I had the chance to get up I felt a sharp pain. My vision faded off into nothing but a blur and then everything went pitch black.
