Lunch:

I walk into the cafeteria searching for my friends but I'm not even hungry.
I keep my head down so no one notices me, but me being so tall makes me very noticeable. I see Ashton and I walk over to him. I sit down, no one says a word, and they all just stare at me.

"Luke, you look like you've been up all night or got wasted or something." Ashton says.

I rub my eyes and say something so quietly it's a whisper.

"Um, I was up, studying for the History test." I lie; I didn't open a single text book last night.

"Luke, why can't you tell them?" Calum complains.

Michael looks at me concerned and I put my head down. I can't tell them, they'll think I'm some wimp because I have nightmares.

I peek through the tiny opening of my arms and they still look at me strange.

"Ugh, I can, it's just..." I stop and look around trying to avoid answering, but they stare at me intensely.

"It's just, I have to tell you privately, and you have to promise not to laugh."

"Why would we laugh?" Ashton asks cracking a smile.

Calum looks at him and his smile fades.

"They wouldn't Luke." Calum says.

I sigh and get up from the table.

"Later at my place." I say then I walk outside.

I hear them calling my name, but I continue to walk away, I need fresh air. I walk to the front of the school and I see a bench. I sit down and watch the cars speed by. Its fine you'll be fine, I think to myself. As I watch the cars, all I can picture is the crash. I look down quickly and shake my head. Forget Luke, forget.

I feel someone nudge me and I look over; it's Calum.

"Calm down buddy." He tells me. "You think about it too much, you need to focus on other things, like that History test."

I laugh softly, he's right. I need distractions.

"Maybe studying during lunch would be a good idea..." I say.

"Maybe eating lunch at lunch would be a good idea!" He replies.

He looks behind him and grabs my shoulder. I look at him and I see a smile on his face.

"Get up Lucas." He says.

Calum leaves without me and I follow him. He walks to the side of the school and I'm confused on what's going on. I walk forward but then he puts his hand on my chest. I step back and look at him.

"Calum?" I ask.

He shushes me and I raise an eyebrow. I try to look into his direction, but all I see is the field ahead.

"You're going to talk to her." He says, and then I lay my eyes on who he's talking about.

I shake my head and turn around. Calum grabs me by the collar of my shirt and turns me back around. My mind starts racing and my heart beats faster.

"I can't, what do I say!" I ask in a panic.

"Hi, hey! Wait, is it hi or hey?" He says, "Say hi, but say hey it's more casual,"

I get confused on his commentary and I forget what to say. She approaches us closer as she talks to Tracy. Calum walks away and I look around frantically. I clear my throat and put my hands at my side.

"Hiey." I say as I wave, it was a mixed of Hi and Hey, and sounded like he-ye

She looks at me, but doesn't say a word; doesn't even wave. I watch her walk away and I swear. She whispers something to Tracy, and she looks back at me. She laughs, and continues walking.
