We sat down right as the bell rang. Sara came running in a couple seconds after us. She looked around seeing everyone staring at her then looked at the time. Realizing she was late she quickly looked at Mr. Loch's desk and saw he wasn't there. She sighed in relief and walked to her seat behind me.

"Omigosh. I was so worried when I realized I was late. My mom will kill me if I get another detention from Mr. Loch. Plus, if I dont get my grade up in International Relations, I'll get kicked off the cheer squad." She told me with a frown "But, I did find out about Geri. She isnt gonna be here. Her mom is keeping her home. Her mom is pissed with her." She said

"Well, at least he isn't here yet. And come on, have some sympathy for the girl." she frowned. "Sar, I know you get the wrap on everyone, but that doesnt mean you have to be mean about it. Which leads me to my next task. It's our senior year and you still haven't figured out what you want to do. I think you should look into journalism." I told her

"Jen, that takes writing!" She said pouting

"Sar, I've read your work before! You are really good and you know how to get information. It's the perfect job!"

"I dont know..." Sara said trailing off.

"Oh come on, just check it out. For me?" I asked her.

"Fine! I'll look into it!" she said, faking the rudeness in her voice.

Mr. Loch walked in then and the room became silent. He was a large, short man. His voice was really deep and he was really mean sometimes. He only liked me because he knew my dad. They were good friends in high school and still play golf together sometimes. It's kind of wierd knowing your dad is friends with your teacher.

"I trust you have all been working?" He asked us.

The room was silent, and in his head that means yes sir. So I pulled out my counsel "To Talk About" list." Its a list I make up everyday we have a meeting. It reminds me of subjects we need to discuss. I continued working until the bell for first period rang.

Grant walked over to me and picked up my stuff. "I'll carry this." he told me.

"Oh Grant, such a gentleman." I said then fake punching him in the arm. We walked out of the room and down the hall to my social studies class. He handed me my books gave me a kiss on the cheek and proceeded to going to his English class.

I took my seat and then we began the day, listening to Mr. Broche talk about patterns in the economy changes.

After school I went to my student counsel meeting then to cheer practice. After leading the girls(and 2 boys) in a grueling choreography workout, I told them they could go and get water and that I'd see them tomorrow. I grabbed my water and went into the lockeroom. I got dressed and then went out into the parking lot where my sister was waiting in my car. I opened the door.

"How long have you been in here? Its 5 o'clock!" I exclaimed

"Since after school ended. Did you forget you told me you were gonna take me home?" she asked looking out the window

"Yeah, I had cheer and Student Council. I'm sorry. I would have gotten Mel to take you home if I would have known I was supposed to take you." I said apologizing then starting the car and turning the air conditioning on. I backed out of the parking lot and started driving. "How bout we go get some Subway or something?"

"Sure, whatever." she told me.

I pulled over to the curb and stopped the car. "Whats going on Lizz? I've forgotten before and you haven't gotten all PMS on me. Did something happen at school today?" I asked worried about my little sister. Despite all the fighting we did we really had a close relationship. When something was wrong she always came to me for advice.

"Nope, I'm all good." looking over at me giving me an obviously forced smile.

"You aren't fooling me Liz. You're my sister I know when you are upset. Plus that smile you just gave me looked so fake."

Liz looked like she was about to cry.

"Liz, whats wrong?"

"It's just this, um, thing with Will Hersher." This was the guy she liked. "He found out I liked him, and now he isn't speaking to me."

I could tell she was lying. If that was it she would have come to cheer practice and asked for me and the girls(the guys would be on water break) advice. She was lying about something, but I decided not to push it. She's been known to make rash decisions.

"Oh hunny, I'm sorry! Maybe he's just trying to figure out if he likes you too!" I told her.

She smiled at me and then turned on the music. "Well, anyways, I'm not gonna take the mood down." she told me with a smile. "So Subway?" With that we drove off to get delicious sandwiches.
