Summary: "Can you write one where the reader has epilepsy and has a seizure and Matty panics and has to call 911 even though you don't necessarily need to call an ambulance every time we have a seizure? And its fluffy pls.""Alright, let's get working. Someone prepare the lights."
Sitting on Matty's amp, you watched as Matty took his guitar and strummed meaningless notes on it. It was a big night, with a big concert planned. The 1975 had booked a massive theater, easily fitting nearly ten thousand. You had listened to Matty go on about how nervous he was to play it, and how excited he was to try some new things style wise. One of the new ideas he had was for the lighting. He wanted to make it more intense, and more immersive. You might have had only been his girlfriend for a few weeks, but you could tell the thought of it thrilled him. You were eager to see what he had in store.
A few words were spoken between Matty and the lighting people, and then the set around you lit up. It was so cool to see them switch and illuminate at the beat of the songs they were for. You loved how the lights for Menswear looked, and especially how A Change of Heart's pastel colors gave the area around you a cool and relaxed feeling. Matty spoke a bit more to the lighting people, you overhearing him saying something about making the pink slightly lighter, before turning back to his guitar and mumbling for them to move on to Sex. The white hue on the set was chilling, but very cool to observe. You watched as they switched from white to black, going back and forth between the two a few times slowly. Then, the lights began to flicker fast, exceedingly fast. The strobe made you feel woozy, almost faint, and then you found yourself losing full consciousness.
Matty turned to gaze at you to see what you thought, but jumped and nearly threw his guitar to the ground at seeing you almost collapse. Catching you, he held you as you gently convulsed. You had told him about being epileptic, so he knew what was going on, but he had no idea how to help you. He yelled for the crew to stop and for them to call an ambulance. Adam, who had been nearby strumming on his own guitar, ran backstage to grab what medics they had on scene. They came over in seconds, carefully taking you from Matty and resting you in a good recovery position on the floor. Thankfully, a minute and a half later, your shaking subsided, and you slowly fluttered your eyes open at the people around you. Matty knelt down beside you, worry in his eyes. The ambulance came moments later, joining the on-site medics to check you over.
The medics had you examined in no time, making sure through a series of tests that you were alright. Thankfully, through talking to you and asking about you, they came to the conclusion that it had only been a mild seizure. You were, though shaken up a bit, okay. After giving you a few words and some fluids, they left and handed you back to Matty, who had been nervously watching over you as they helped you out. He brought you to go sit back down on the amp, and then enveloped you into a huge hug.
"I was so scared for you," he mumbled, kissing the side of your head. "I...I had no idea what to do and you were on the floor and-"
"Matty it's okay," you assured him with a soft smile. "You did fine. In fact, you probably didn't even need to call the ambulance. The on-site medics would've handled it just the same. It was mild, it's happened before. The lights just got to me."
"I'm so sorry. I didn't think, I didn't realize-"
You silenced him with a kiss. "It's honestly okay. I'm going to be fine. Thank you though for being so attentive to me. It's really sweet of you."
Smiling, Matty reached to take your hand and squeeze it gently. "Of course, love. I'd do it any time for you. I'd never want anything bad to happen to you. I like you a lot, {Y/N}."
"I like you too, Matty," you told him. You squeezed his hand back, earning a grin. "You know, as much as I'm excited for the concert tonight, I think I might skip out on sticking around to hear you guys play Sex. It's a great song, but I don't really feel up to an encore of this."
Matty chuckled. "Yeah no, it's a good time to head on back and grab something to drink or eat, love. Don't worry, we won't take it personally."
You smiled. "Good. Thank you again, Matty."
"No problem love." Jumping off the amp, Matty took your hand and looked backstage. "Now, we've only got a bit of time until the show starts, but I know we have a pizza waiting backstage. Care to join me?"
Nodding, you hopped off the amp and joined him at his side. "I may pass on the eating, but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."
Matty kissed your forehead. "Sounds good to me. I'm sure the boys will be happy to know you are alright, too."
"For sure."
With that, the two of you made your way back to join the boys. The concert went well, and the boys killed it. You had a blast as well, dancing and singing along to the songs with the few lucky fans who got spots beside you. Sex was played like normal, but anyone who had been watching Matty closely could see the light return in his face the moment he caught you return back to your place after its end. He cared so much about you. Seeing you smile up at him with so much excitement in your eyes, he vowed that wouldn't stop caring as long as he lived.
