Chapter Twenty Seven

I stood outside of the hotel, all freshened up and ready to go. It was a rather sunny and breezy summer morning. Mikes sweatshirt was tied around my waist as a reminder that he would always be with me, no matter how far apart we were. I missed Mike. I missed the dates we went on, the times we would hold hands, or the times when Mike would always be complaining about something. Something always seemed to tick Mike off at times. He was usually mad about the way his coworkers act at 24-7 or when the orphans used to annoy him. No matter what Mike said, unless it was bad about me, I always loved to hear him talk because for some reason, it makes me really happy to spend time with Mike. Even if he annoys the heck out of me at times

Then, a red Mercedes Benz pulls up in the circular driveway ahead of me. I thought maybe some rich person was staying here tonight but then, the window rolled down and I saw Steve in there, waving with a smile on his face. Wow, I'm actually going to be in a Mercedes Benz. Even the outside of the car looked nice. It was a fire engine red with a sharp edge to the front of the car. The inside was all black and the car had all the modern appliances in it. There was carplay, gps, even a TV. Sure, being inside a really cool modern car was fun but how could I enjoy the moment when so much was at stake today

"Seriously Sarah, stop worrying" said Steve "Were not going to fight any battle until tonight so let's just calm down and enjoy the road trip"

"How could I calm down where everything rests on the shoulders? Mikes life, my life, Olga, it all depends on me" I cried

"I know it's hard because you have GAD so just try and calm down"

Calming down was impossible. I was worried sick about all the possible scenarios that could happen. I didn't even care what happens to me as much as I care about what happens to Mike. I tried to keep thinking that as long as I'm fighting for Mike, I'm going to win. Steve's also on my side so that should really help

"So, where are we driving to?" I asked

"Were going to Brooklyn!"

I nearly freaked out about what he just said "We are going to Brooklyn?!"

Steve shook his head

"Oh my gosh! Brooklyn is like a part of New York City, people from all over the world go there, I can't believe it!"

Knowing that this road trip ended at Brooklyn was allaying my fears. It would be so amazing to see another borough of New York City. I heard a lot of cool things about Brooklyn like its history, its old time charm, and all the up and coming towns. Sure, I would have also liked to visit Manhattan but I trust Steve

"Wait a sec, why would we be going to Brooklyn if Mikes in California?" I asked

"Oh yeah, Mikes not in California" said Steve

When I heard Mike wasn't in California like I thought he was, I immediately got nervous. Where else would Mike be? What if he was dead?

"Where is he?!" I cried "What happened to him?!"

Steve laughed at me acting like a nut because I guess I was "Don't worry, Mikes in Pennsylvania"

"Why would he be in Pennsylvania?"

"Because he's on his way to Brooklyn"

A bright smile immediately appeared on my face "Mikes going to be in Brooklyn too?!"

"Yep"

"Am I going to see him tonight?!"

"Yes you are"

I couldn't believe it. I was actually going to see Mike tonight. I had missed him so much the last few days and I never thought that I would see him alive again. So many emotions of happiness and excitement flew over me because I was going to see Mike today. I needed to see him again to see that he was alright. I just wanted to be with him again
