the cool air bit my pale cheeks turning them a light pink. My teeth chattered due to the coldness surrounding me.

"Since we will need two cars, we are going to take ours, and then you will drive your car." My dad instructed.

"Okay." I said while he handed me my car keys. I grabbed them from his hands and walked over to my car along with Shawn.

"Just follow us, and if somehow we lose each other, you know the way." My mom shrugged.

I just nodded my head and got into my car.

"Be safe." My mom said as I rolled up my window.

"First stop Starbucks." I said to Shawn as I backed out of my driveway. He laughed softly and turned up the radio.

Once I got my caramel macchiato, and Shawn got his green whatever the hell he drinks, we were on our way to the cabin. Shawn and I told each other everything, we were so close we were practically twins. Me and him have always been the touchy type. We hug, hold hands, and cuddle, but we aren't actually dating. I've always found Shawn attractive, and I have a small crush on him, but we are just friends.

"What are you thinking about?" Shawn asked breaking me out of my thoughts.

I shook my head and forced a smile, "just how fun this trip is going to be."

"Is there snow there?" Shawn asked excitedly as if we don't see enough snow if Canada.

"Yes, Shawn there's snow." I said laughing.

"Do you remember that time I threw a snowball and hit you in the nose and it made your nose bleed?" Shawn asked laughing.

I rolled my eyes, "how could I forget, it looked like a murder scene with all the blood on the snow."

Shawn laughed even harder at my comment causing me to laugh at how hard he was laughing.

"I'll never forget the time me, you, and Ian went to the gas station sat 1:00 in the morning, bought a whole bunch of snacks, and got slushes, and were about to pay, and then Ian set off the alarm that was on the back door, so then we had to stay at the gas station until the police got there because they thought we were thieves when really all we were actually were hungry teens." I said laughing slightly at the memory.

"Ugh, I was grounded for a week after that." Shawn said pulling his phone out of his pocket. I laughed and plugged my phone up to the aux cord. I put my music on shuffle and smirked when the song, "rock me," by one direction came on. Shawn understood my obsession with one direction, and totally agreed with me that Niall is under appreciated. Since I force him to listen to all of their songs, he knows all the lyrics.

I noticed that I was running out of gas about 2 hours into the trip, so I pulled into a gas station.

"I'll go pay, if you'll pump the gas." I said to Shawn.

"Okay." He shrugged before opening the car door and getting out. I did the same thing and walked into the store. As soon as I walked in a guy in his late 20s looked me up and down as he waited for his food. I took a deep breath and sighed. I told the dude behind the counter where my car was and handed him the 20 that would fill up my car.

"Hey beautiful," I could feel his warm breath tickle my neck. I turned around to see the guy from earlier. I became uncomfortable and tried to push past him, but he grabbed my arms.

"Let go of me." I begged trying to get out of his grip.

"Dude, let her go." The guy from the counter said. He looked up at the guy angrily before letting me go. I ran out of the store with tears streaming down my cheeks. Shawn noticed and instantly became concerned.

"Hey, hey what's wrong?" He asked pulling me into a hug. I tried to calm down in Shawn's arms, but I was scared. I didn't know what that dude was capable of doing.

"Liz," Shawn said my nickname softly as he rubbed my back, "what happened?" He asked.

"T-there was a guy, h-he wouldn't let me go," that was all I could say before breaking down again. I could feel Shawn tense up as he held me in his arms.

"It's okay, Elizabeth I won't let anything happen to you." He assured. I just nodded my head and held onto him tighter.
