"Looks like you two took a hard fall," my mom said laughing.
"Yeah, but I think Liz broke my fall." Shawn said causing me and my dad to laugh.
"So the party we are going to starts at like 8, so by the time we get back to the cabin it will be 7, so we'll cook dinner and stuff then you two can do whatever you want, just don't leave the house." My mom said as we walked out of the skating rink. Shawn and I were probably just going to cuddle up on the couch and watch scary movies, and eat a bunch of junk food.
Shawn and I got in the backseat of the car. I looked out the window as my dad drove through the mountain to get back to our cabin. I always hated riding on the mountains because it was so scary. Shawn noticed my nervousness and placed his hand on my thigh.
"Are you okay?" He asked me softly.
"Yeah, I just hate riding on the mountain." I said nervously.
He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me close to him. I laid back into the small space between his arm and body and relaxed as the radio played. "Treat you better," started playing on the radio and I looked up at Shawn with a smirk. He laughed and began to sing the lyrics softly, I also started singing, but unlike him I was singing them very loudly.
"Better than he can," Shawn and I sung passionately. My parents were laughing at us in the front seats. My phone buzzed beside me signaling I got tagged in something.
@Loriroberts tagged you in a photo
I clicked on the notification, it took me to my mom's instagram page. A photo of Shawn and I singing while looking at each other popped up on my screen. It was probably one of my favorites of me and Shawn.
@shawnmendes tagged you in a post
I went to his page to see the same photo and the caption, "love it when she sings my songs 😂." I smiled and liked the post. The car came to a stop causing me to look up from my phone. I saw the cabin and took off my seatbelt.

"Just don't burn down the house, and nothing that you'll regret." My mom said as she applied mascara to her eyelashes."Okay mom." I said. She hugged me and kissed my cheek.
"We'll be home pretty late, so don't wait up." My dad said patting my back. I nodded my head and watched as they walked to the door.
"Love y'all." My mom said as she walked out the door.
"Love you too." I sighed and turned around to see shawn with a mouthful of chips.
"what movie do you want to watch?" Shawn asked once he swallowed the chips.
"What about the cabin in the woods?" Shawn's eyes widened as he looked at me.
"Okay, but when you get scared and freak out don't hang onto me." Shawn said walking into the bedroom.
"Oh please, you know I will, and you know that you'll let me." I said plopping down on the comfy bed.
Shawn laughed and said, "that is true." He grabbed his laptop and found the movie. He started the movie, and sat his laptop on his lap. I pulled the blanket over me and slouched down on the bed. Shawn was sitting up with his back pressed up against the headboard.

It was around the middle of the movie and I was practically sitting on top of Shawn."Hold on," Shawn paused the movie before he laid down, he laid his arm across the pillows, I laid my head on his chest, he then wrapped his arm around me. "Better?" He asked. I nodded my head, I had my arm across his torso as he rubbed up and down my arm. It was something I used to ask him to do whenever we were kids, ever since then it has just became a habit that he does.
I buried my head in his chest at a scary part, he chuckled causing me to look up at him. "This isn't funny." I said trying to be serious.
He had a huge smile spread across his lips. His eyes flickered from my eyes to my lips. My breathing quickened, my heartbeat was so loud that I could hear it in my ears. His face inched closer to mine, I closed my eyes when I felt his warm lips against mine. His hands traveled from my waist up to my back, my hands found their way to his face. Our mouths moved in-sync, I didn't want the moment to end. It was something that I secretly would want to happen, but never said anything. We eventually had to pull away for air. We just looked at each other in shock for a couple of seconds before Shawn broke the silence.
"Uh, we should probably get some sleep. Your mom wants to go hiking tomorrow." Shawn said awkwardly rubbing his neck.
"Yeah." I said turning away from Shawn and laying on the pillow facing the window.
"Goodnight." I heard Shawn say softly.
"Goodnight." I said trying to fall asleep with the taste of his lips lingering on mine.
They finally kissed! How do you guys like this book so far? It's probably one of my favorite books that I have written.
