You would not believe what just happened! Okay so you will but I swear I'm still on edge. I was downloading music onto my mp3 and my computer was not cooperating and it set me so on edge! I swear! It was the most nerve-wrecking experience of my life! Anyway, I was downloading because I need it for the bus ride to Washington DC. That's right bitches, I'll be there all next week. I'll only have my ipod, so no updates :(. This will be the last one until next Saturday. And I PROMISE the next chapter will be worth the wait (because this one obviously isn't). Read on!

Alex's POV:

(A few weeks later)

I sat with the phone in my hand. What the fuck was I supposed to do? I told the record company I'd have this done by today, and promised them guest vocals. They had already heard the demo she and I had come up with, and they wanted her. The guys had already recorded their parts, and now it was time for mine.

I couldn't do it. I couldn't call her up and beg her to be on my song. I knew she wouldn't pick up. And I never wanted to talk to her again. She left me so fucking broken. I wanted to break down and cry. This is why you don't mix buisness with pleasure. It's just, I thought we'd be forever.

"Alex." Jack knocked on the door of the bathroom. "Just call already. I will if you don't want to."

"I can't!" I said a little to anxiously. "We can't. It's not right."

"Then just call someone else."

The answer was within me all along. Yes, just call someone else! It was that simple! I dialled the first number I thought of. Vic fuentes.

"Hello?" He picked up.

"Vic, man, I have a gigantic favor to ask." I began.

"Yeah, anything." He replied.

"Okay, so, I have to record this song by the end of the day, and I originally wrote it with Marina," Damn, saying her name hurt. "But obviously, we're not on speaking terms anymore, so I need someone else to do her vocals. Would you mind?"

He paused. "Man, you know I'd love to, but I don't want to get in between you and her."

"You're not getting between anything." I said. "She won't even care."

"Well, I'll do it under one condition."

"What?"

"She did help write it, right?"

"Yep."

He took an exhale. "I'll only do it if you credit her writing."

I took the phone away from my mouth. I didn't want to have any part of her anymore, but I was so desperate. "Okay, I'll do it. I'll send you the demo and the lyrics you're supposed to do."

"Thanks. I'll take care of it. Don't you worry, Alex. It's gonna be the bomb." He hung up.

I hung up as well. God dammit.

I lied down in the hotel room. I didn't want to go anywhere or do anything. It all reminded me of the many times I'd been here with her. Her. My heartbreaker, my worst enemy. And my-

Best friend. Chills ran throughout my body as the thought ran through my mind. She was my everything and my nothing at all. Every little piece of my life reflected somehow on her. And now, I was supposed to be visiting again, but I couldn't. I couldn't bear to see her again.

It sucked. I wanted so badly to see Colby and Luke kids in love again. To see how Kianna and Jack might react to being around one another again. To see how big Emily was getting. But no, instead, I was alone here.
