Marina's POV:
About an hour later, after I watched Alex play Temple Run for a ridiculous amount of time. I honestly couldn't care less. I could watch him play for hours. I wished I could be that talented in any game. But no, I had no coordination or patience. That's why I run.
When we finally came out, we were explained the situation. The entire building was in lock down because a rabid dog got inside. Rabies is my second worst fear in the world, but I was told that the elevator was the safest place in the whole building. That also explains why the cell phone service shut off. At least I knew I was safe. And, because the staff members heard me screaming, I got a pass to use the stairs.
My birthday party was a blast! I got so many amazing presents from everyone, especially Alex. Kianna made me an oreo cake again, which was even better this time. And I drank and drank and drank until I completely blacked out. I had nearly everything we had. Vodka, Jack, whiskey, wine. I hardly touched dinner I was so filled up with booze.

I peeled open an eye, and the sun stung it. Jesus christ. My head started pounding. My first day of being twenty that wasn't my birthday. October ninth. The windows were open wide, and there was a balcony connected to the room. I decided that as much as the sunlight hurt, I needed it.
I then came to senses with my hearing. Cars blared and beeped outside, but couldn't stop that beautiful ocean view. Breathing and snorning was everywhere, even on the back of my neck. Who was that? I turned around and swallowed. It was Alex.
I suddenly came to terms with myself. I couldn't remember a damn thing about last night. My mouth tasted funny. My hands smelt gross. What had I done?
I ran to the bathroom, stepping over the sleeping bodies of Jack and Matt. Colby and Kianna were asleep in the other bed. They wouldn't let me, would they?
In the bathroom, I brushed my teeth. I needed whatever taste was there to be gone. My and Alex's clothes were all over the floor. Shit. I took a piss and flushed, which woke up Matt. He looked at a frantic me with confusion.
"What happened last night?" He grumbled.
I sat on the edge of my bed, jerking things angrily out of my bag. "I don't know. I honestly have no idea, and I'm starting to freak out."
"I can't remember a damn thing. I blacked out so hard." He laughed.
I noticed what I was wearing. Underwear and Alex's shirt. He was in nothing but his boxers. Please, please don't say it happened. I pulled my jeans up and threw on a different shirt and bra, without even bothering to hide from Matt. Modesty wasn't what was on my mind at the moment.
"Should we kick all these people out?" Matt asked, sitting up.
I slammed my hands onto my lap. "Matt, I need you to take me to a drugstore."
"What's wrong?"
I buried my face in my hands and started to cry. He sat beside me, and hugged me. It still didn't wake Alex up.
"Shh, Marina, everything's gonna be okay." He rubbed my back.
"I've been off birth control since August and I have no recollection of last night at all." I cried. "I can't get pregnant. And I couldn've slept with Alex. Everything is wrong right now!"
"I'm almost sure you didn't, but I'll take you anway." He stood.
I grabbed my wallet and followed. We left the room without leaving a note or anything. We walked down the stairs and out of the hotel, to the street. We glanced around the corner, and saw a Walgreens. Thank the lord. I hurried into the store, with Matt following close behind.
