Okay so last time I checked I wasn't super into Steven Universe as much as I was when the show first came out. But then my cousin was like "Armani wanna make a gemsona?" A gemsona is a Steven Universe gem OC. And I was like "Sure I have nothing else to do." So then I started doing some research on what gem I wanted to do, so I came across Labradorite. Basically it helps with calming the mind and increases spiritual prowess. At least from what I can remember.
So then I started to make a concept for her (and I'm saying her because all gems are female from what we know so far in the show except Steven since he's half human. Anyways) as I got into the backstory and everything I ended up getting really into making this character good. Cuz I've made my fair share of gemsonas in the past but never really made any official CUZ THEY WERE ALL TRASH.
So her story is that she used to be part of Yellow Diamond's court (she's in charge of the military). But Labradorite didn't know what it was since she was still young. Like a few thousand years old. Maybe 1,o30? Anyways- when she got assigned to help with the cluster (which is a thing that was supposed to hollow out the earth so that gems could use the materials to make stronger gems and conquer the universe or something). Labradorite didn't want to hurt anything on Earth (she has her gem on her belly which makes her extremely considerate of all things. Imagine as a mother figure or something).
So she ran away.
She ended up on Earth and met the Crystal Gems. She was a bit wary at first since she knew how dangerous they could be since she always heard the diamonds talking about how they were meddling with their plans. But as she got to know them, she got comfortable enough to stay with them. BASICALLY LIKE EVERY OTHER GEM STEVEN MEETS BECOMES ANOTHER MOM.
FYI this after the gem war (which occurred before Labradorite was created). So when she meets the Crystal Gems and stuff she's 1,050. She's still learning things about Earth culture. She's only been there for like a little over 10 years.

Okay I made another OC... She's basically a friend of Labradorite. She works for Yellow Diamond but she didn't leave with Labradorite. She comes to visit her sometimes when she gets sent to monitor the CG's. The CG's know she's with homeworld, but they can see that she's actually a good gem. Although Pearl is still a bit paranoid that she's going to stab them in the back. With her glaive.
Her name is Black Tourmaline. She uses a glaive as a weapon. She's torn between being loyal to her leader, Yellow Diamond... Or her best friend Labradorite.
I'M CURRENTLY WORKING ON THE CORRUPT VERSION OF THEM SO AFTER THAT I'LL PUBLISH WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE!!!
