(There are four races in this world: Avians(people with wings) Merfolk(mermaids/mermen) Galra(furry purple space alien cat things) Humans(no explanation needed duh))

Scarlett walked down the sidewalk. It was oddly... quiet and empty. It was 3 p.m and a weekend. She looked around and wondered what could make people not want to go outside. She stopped walking when she heard a loud laser sound coming from above.

Shoot, a Galra ship. And- OH MY GOD! She panicked in her head.

The laser got the figure right in the wing. And not even the tip, like, right in the center.

They tumbled into the trees, down onto the hill, then they rolled down into the bushes.

She rushed over to them, then started rummaging through the bushes, not even caring for the Galra ship. "Are you alright? Any broken bones?" She started searching her bag for a splint just in case if there were any broken bones.

The figure then sat up, then Scarlett realized who it was. "A-Aira?!"

She chuckled and rubbed the back of her neck. "H-hey Scarlett..."

Scarlett reached to her wing and saw the huge gap between her wing. "Wow, I... don't think you'll ever be able to fly with this." she said sadly.

Aira stood up, wincing at the pain of her injured wing. "N-no, I have to fight. For..." she looked toward the water.

Scarlett was confused for a second, before realizing what she meant.

"But, don't the Avians and Galra hate the Merfolk?" she asked unsteadily.

"They do, but not every one does." Aira said, a bit of anger rising in her voice.

I looked up to the Galra ship. "Maybe... if we can take it down, we could access the healing pods in there."

"Galra ships don't have those." Aira said. "Only the Alteans have that kind of tech."

"Well, where were they coming from?"

She gasped at the sudden realization. "An... Altean fortress!" she said, smiling. "But, how are we gonna get up there with my wing like this?" she then said sadly, raising her wing.

"I have an idea," Scarlett said. "We gotta get to the water and lure them over there."

"But they'll attack the Merfolk! I don't want them getting hurt!" she shouted.

"Just, trust me!"

Aira had some thoughts before agreeing.

"Alright, the Galra ship is almost here," Aira said. "So what's your plan?"

She smiled and cupped her hands around her mouth to amplify the sound. "SIRENA!!!" she screamed at the top of her lungs.

There was an awkward silence before there was a splash coming from the water. Then she landed onto the sand. "GUYS!" she reached over for a hug, but they rejected kindly.

"We can hug after, but we need your help." Scarlett said.

"Yeah, we've got a bit of a situation here..." Aira added.

Sirena tilted her head and her tail curled upward. "Okay... What's up?"

Scarlett kneeled down to her level. "We need you to sing."

Sirena almost blushed to this. "Y-you want me to s-sing?" she asked, pointing to her chest.

They both nodded.

She gulped and nodded. "Alright, what song?"

"One to temporally immobilize a person." Scarlett said.

Aira finally realized what the plan was.

The ship was at the edge of the sand, charging the laser to finish off Aira. Possibly Scarlett too since she was helping them. And Sirena, since the feeling's mutual.

Sirena sighed, then swam back into the water. Half of her body was above the water. The markings on her skin began to glow faintly as she began to hum a melodious tune.

Aira and Scarlett covered their ears to not get caught in the song.

As the note got higher, the ship began to wobble a bit.

And as a finale, the note ended abruptly with a hum in the end. The ship landed, the pilot out cold.

They all smiled and rushed over to the healing pod inside. Aira stepped inside and closed her eyes. Scarlett pressed one of the buttons, which closed the doors and started the healing process.

Sirena looked up to Scarlett. "So why did we need this anyways?" she asked.

"Well, this Altean healing pod allows the person inside to heal almost any wound." she said. "But it doesn't always happen very quickly. It could be a few hours or days..." she sighed. "Considering the huge hole in her wing."

Sirena gasped. "WAIT SHE HAD A HOLE IN HER WING?!" she shouted.

She covered her mouth since there was someone else they did not want to wake up.

"So no more flying..." she whispered under her breath. "That must be heart-breaking for an Avian."

~Time skip to after Aira gets out of the healing pod (like a few hours)~

"So, what are we gonna do about the Galra." Aira said, growling almost.

Sirena shrugged. "I've never done that song before. I mean, my mother taught it to me, but I never used it." She chuckled and rubbed the back of her neck. "So I don't know what's gonna happen next."

Aira growled and drew her dagger. "Then let's just finish him off..." she said, holding it to his chest.

Scarlett dragged Sirena out of the ship, not wanting her to see it.

"Aww... I wanted to see!" she complained.

"You're still young. I know it'll make you stronger if you look. It's something that usually happens during war, but..." Scarlett looked up to the sky. "I don't want you to get involved."

Sirena pouted. "But I wanna help."

"You're the next queen of your kingdom. And an only child. So it wouldn't be the best if you were a casualty of war. Then who would rule in your place?"

Sirena sighed. "You sound just like my mom..." she said a little irritated.

Scarlett sighed as well. "You'll get it when you're older and wiser."

Sirena broke free from her grasp and glared. "No! I've decided to help in the war and you won't be the one who stops me!" And with that, she dove back into the dark blue, vast ocean.
