"No element?" she said with a disappointed look.
"Disgrace." he spat. "Terminate the child immediately."
"Yes, milord!" the guards spoke in unison when suddenly, one of them grabbed the child and ran off.
"What are you doing?!" she cried. "Capture him!"
There was silence for a few moments. In those few seconds, they were both full of adrenaline.
"Shh..." the man cooed. "It's okay. You're safe with me now."
His voice calmed her, soothing her thoughts. Then there was a loud-
"AAAH!"
"Laur- OW!" he cried as he fell onto the cold wooden floor.
"Sorry!" she said as she rushed to the other end of the bed.
He sat up and rubbed his forehead. "No dessert after dinner." he said.
She pondered whether or not he was joking. By the look on his face and the tone of his voice, he wasn't. "WH-WHAT?!" she shrieked. She pouted and slammed her hands on the mattress. "But it's not my fault I woke up from a nightmare!" she shouted.
He pulled his brown, wavy hair behind his ear. "Nightmare?" he asked.
She nodded slowly. "I think it was about running away from somewhere. Then..." she paused and clenched her fists. "BOOM!" she exclaimed as she opened her palms.
He made a shocked face, which usually meant he was remembering something. After a few seconds, he stood up and fixed his shirt. "You wanna go to the market? I'll get you something." he said with a warm smile on his face.
Lauren smiled and nodded. "Okay!" she exclaimed happily. She then jumped off the bed and rushed over to her closet. "Let me get dressed."
When she turned around, he was still standing there. "Nate! Get out!" she shouted.
He realized what she meant and rushed out. "Sorry!" he yelled as he ran away.
Lauren sighed and started to change into her blue dress. It made her look absolutely stunning. Then she covered up that beauty with her favorite cloak. Lauren ran outside to Nate, but he was nowhere to be seen.
"Nate?" she asked, looking around. She looked in the living room.
Nothing.
She looked in the kitchen.
Nothing.
She ran over to his room and opened the door.
She saw Nate with his bare back facing her, since he wasn't wearing a shirt. There was a huge scar along his lightly tanned skin.
Nate turned around and kind of just, stared at her. Lauren kept darting her eyes from his abs to his face. She was only nervous because she's never seen someone even partially naked.
"Lauren?" he asked.
"Y-yes?" she replied, breaking eye contact every few seconds.
"How long were you standing there?"
She rubbed the back of her neck nervously. "N-not long..." she said, almost in a whisper.
Nate began to put another shirt on when Lauren abruptly stopped him. "When did you get that scar?"
He pointed to his back. "This one?"
She nodded.
"That's a question for another day," he said, putting on a white t-shirt. "But I have a question for you."
