Ruthless | Anakin Skywalker

"Hello, Master," I smiled down at the little hologram in my palm. Although my studies as a Padawan under Shaak Ti were very professional, we both knew we had a Mother- Daughter relationship. I enjoyed my Master's compassion as her main strength. For the ten years that I had been learning beneath her I had always hoped to be as wise as she was. This is why I spent a lot of my free time learning more about the Force. 

"Hello Luana. How is your mission coming along?" she asked. Her palm was also face up in front of her letting me know she was also using a small Holo Communicator. 

"It's going well," I responded while my other hand came up to fiddle with my Padawan braid, "no other threats present since the attack this morning." I glanced over my shoulder and using the Force I tried to sense where Anakin and Obi Wan were. I could sense that Anakin in the living room, far from me, and Obi Wan was downstairs with the Captain and troops. "Although it seems there is a problem between Master Kenobi and Padawan Skywalker." I added quickly.

I watched my Master's white eyebrow shoot up at my news, but she did not look surprised, "Kenobi has told the Council of Young Skywalker's arrogance," she mused while placing a hand on her chin in thought, "I am very fortunate to have a Padawan who's not arrogant like other Padawan are becoming," her white lips turned up in a smile. 

I gave a close mouthed smile before replying, "I think the arrogance is not only in the Padawan, Master, but in older Jedi as well," I thought of how Obi embarrassed Anakin by scolding him in front of Padmé and I.

"Be careful about your feelings to Jedi your senior, Luana," my Master warned the glanced behind her as if someone had just told her something, "I must let you go, young one. I have sent R2-KT to be with you. You still need to thank Aayla Secura for letting you keep her droid."

I rolled my eyes at my Master's use of all of my little pink and white Astromech's identification numbers, "Master, you can say Kaytee." 

She gave me a full smile showing her teeth and shaking her head. "I don't think I ever can do that," she paused, "I appreciate you following my instructions. Please do the same in the next rotation." She bowed her head in respect, "I am very proud of you, and may the Force be with you."

      Before I could reply the hologram disappeared. I sighed and clicked my Holo Communicator on my belt. I turned on my heel and headed towards the living room. I rounded the corner and saw Anakin sitting there meditating. I let my gaze rest on him for a second to take in his older features. His baby face was completely gone and now high cheek bones stood proudly. I admired my childhood friend for a moment longer before flipping my attention to the skyline. The city planet never slept as speeders still sliced through the air. I opened the glass door and slipped out onto the balcony. I quickly shut the door behind me trying not to disturb Anakin's meditation. I leaned my arms against the railing as I closed my eyes. The city lights casted a light glow behind my eyelids. I felt the Force around me as it touched the Senate building, from the doorway to me, and how speeders sliced through. It's energy flowed through every surrounding object and being. The matter around it meant nothing as it whispered its way back to me.

    I felt my hand grab something against my chest bringing it up to my lips. It was a habit I could never shake. The Jappor Snippet was smooth against my lips as I felt a familiar presence approach.

"I can't believe you still have that," I heard his voice cut through the air. By the sound of his voice I could tell he was smiling.  

I didn't open my eyes, "I never take it off," I answered as he stepped closer.

There was a long pause as I felt nervousness radiate off of Anakin. I opened my eyes and looked at him dropping my hand to my side. When I locked eyes with him I felt my own nervousness bubble up inside me. My mind flashed with the memories of our last time together before we were separated.
