Tsunami did, at one point, mention that she had fleeting crushes on both Starflight and Clay when she was younger, but those ended pretty quickly.
When she was younger, though. It's not uncommon for young teens to develop fleeting crushes a lot — it happens sometimes. And she mentioned that they ended pretty quickly because of certain traits they had that she found undesirable in a boyfriend.
And okay. Maybe they shared one cute moment in the arena, didn't they?
Alright. I kind of see where people might ship them. It only requires one cutesy moment for people to start shipping them because that brings the possibility of more cutesy moments.
And people like cutesy moments.
(me included.)
But they both mention one another to be highly undesirable for mates; mainly because Tsunami sees Starflight as the cowardly little brother and Starflight sees Tsunami as the bossy older sister. Their bond is an argumentative brother/sister one. I can't see them together at all; if not for their initial brother/sister relationship, then because of their clashing traits.
Starflight's fearful, meek, even cowardly (but can be brave if pushed).
Tsunami's the complete opposite: Fearless, confronting, and not cowardly at all. She doesn't need to be pushed to be brave; she's naturally brave anyway.
Starflight thinks every action thoroughly; he thinks of the best course of action and listens to his voice of logic often.
Tsunami, while she isn't necessarily dumb, doesn't think every action through, and is very reckless with what she does. She tends to go for it, which isn't a bad trait to have, but it is entirely opposite to what Starflight does.
They argue a lot already. They would argue even more if they were together.
It would never work out realistically.
