To Remain Humble

18/7/2017

In June last year, I received a thorn in the flesh. It affected my entire body. It was painful. I had numbness all over. Sometimes, it debilitated me to the point that I could not move.

Several weeks after receiving this thorn, I answered the call of the Lord, and entered into my calling to lead, pray, teach, and disciple. From then on, I received His Grace, and manifold spiritual revelations.

My constant prayer to the Lord before, and during all these, was to keep me humble, transform me, and allow me to serve Him.

Today, I realised that the Lord has answered my prayer through this thorn in my flesh. I was spiritually too immature to realise that this thorn was actually good for me - to keep me humble. It was given to me before everything could take place, so that I would not mess up. He went before me, and is with me every step of the way.

Hallelujah! All Glory to God!

Deuteronomy 31:8 NKJV
8 And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 NKJV
The Thorn in the Flesh
7 And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. 8 Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. 9 And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

James 4:6 NKJV
6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”
