"Mom! Dad!" Di said, looking at both of them and I too stared at them feeling worried.
"What did we do?" Mom asked us and I wanted to tell her that it is not what they had done but how they are behaving.
"We both are divorcees here and you are acting as if we are going to a date for the first time in our lives." Di stated.
"It is mine!" I whispered which she tactfully ignored, but stiffened hearing that.
"With Dad giving away rules and regulations while you are giving away your worry. We both will be fine." Saying that she held my hand and dragged me out of the house.
"You never went on a date?" she asked the moment she started driving.
"No!" I replied and waited for her to laugh.
"I don't believe you! I saw how crazy Nakul was for you and you guys must have gone somewhere for sure." She said and I turned to stare at her.
"With James coming with us every time?" I asked and she stiffened hearing his name but cleared her throat before giving a nod of understanding.
"So, all our dates were at home only. We never went out somewhere specifically for date." I added and we both fell into silence.
Did he leave for her home already? I thought, looking out at the passing vehicles repeating the question that started from the moment I started getting ready.
After how many days, was he ready to move on? And why am I not able to believe him to do anything as such. If it was told by someone or anyone, I would have brushed it off, but now hearing her voice and words, I am unable to at least I am trying not to brush off.
If I leave the matter, then what else can I think about with him not having a normal conversation with me during these weeks of time.
"Here we are! Don't show much emotion with the date, okay? I already told them we are divorcees and they don't expect us to be completely in flow with this." Di advised and I glanced at her to see that her knuckles turned white holding the steering wheel tightly.
"Were you thinking about what to talk to them and what to look in them to continue this dating when you were getting ready?" I asked and she gave me a confused look.
"No!" she finally replied, matching my answer.
"What were you thinking then?" I asked and she shook her head.
"Something which I shouldn't be thinking of." She replied and I smiled before removing my seat belt while her hands shook while removing hers.
I stopped her from getting out of the car and turned to sit with my back to the door. She gave me another confused look, but didn't move to get out.
"I feel like we are cheating going on these dates." I stated and she chuckled.
"We are divorced!" she mumbled with a bitter tone and I nodded.
"Are we in our heart?" I asked and after a few minutes she shook her head.
"Then isn't it cheating, loving someone in the heart and then going out with someone else? Will it not be cheating ourselves and also a wonderful feeling?" I continued with my words and she leaned back closing her eyes.
"When did you become elder to me?" she mumbled and I gave her a small smile when she opened her eyes.
"Fine! But don't forget that James already stated his plans of involving with a girl soon after the divorce and Nakul is already involved. So, think again before deciding against this." She said and I nodded.
