Isak
THUMP, THUMP, THUMP.
"Come in!" I shout to Eva.
She swings open the door and walks in towards the living room. I jog down the stairs to meet her. "Ready?" I smile.
"Let's go" she motion backs towards the door. I fetch my denim jacket off of the table as we walk out. It was a perfect breezy fall night, not too cold as it had been the past two weeks.
It took us a near thirty minutes to arrive because of Eva and her magnificent navigation skills. "How many girls are you hooking up with tonight?" she randomly blurts out.
"How many girls are there at this party?" I laugh. She elbows me in the stomach and laughs along. "In your dreams Valtersen."
We walk closely up to the flat and I open the door for Eva. The room was decorated nicely and it smelled refreshing. "Uh are we at the right place?" I whisper over to her. She looked as confused as I was and right as we looked back up, Sonja was waiting for us.
Right behind her was Even. My heart skipped a beat as I guided Eva towards them. "Hello!" Sonja greets to Eva and I. "Hi" I manage to get out, not looking even remotely in Even's direction. I knew I had to greet him too and I really didn't want to.
"Hi Isak."
I really didn't want to face him, but I forced myself to act like a normal human being.
"Hey" I nod and give him a slight friendly smile.
I slip my hand around Eva's waist and it catches her off guard. "Go with it" I whisper to her. "Thanks" she quietly says back.
"Well, I think we all know each other here besides Eva and Even, really." Sonja mentions. Eva and I shoot each other a look at the same time.
"Even, this is Isak's girlfriend, Eva." Even looked at her and out of instinct, I tightened my grip around her waist. He noticed and a sense of jealousy immediately swept across his face. I already got myself knee-deep into the pretending to date Eva scheme, and it was too late to turn back.
"And Eva, this is my boyfriend, Even" Sonja gleams.
Sonja lifts her head up and Even gives her a quick peck on the lips.
Eva nods and they both go in for a handshake, barely making eye contact. "Nice to meet you" Eva sprinkles in. I looked down to try and make my smile go unnoticed.
"Well, the party is mostly going on in the top level and outside." Sonja says to us.
"Okay, I think we'll head upstairs I guess...right Isak?" Eva says. I was so zoned out that I only heard the last part of it.
"Um yeah.. yeah, we will go do that" I smile back at Sonja and also end up accidentally glimpsing at Even.
I let Eva go up ahead of me as we walk up the large wooden stairs. "I have my cell on me, If I need anything I'll text or call you and vice versa." She states.
"Hey, and thanks Isak. Go hook up with some girls and also don't forget my drunk ass when you leave."
"I won't leave without you Eva" I laugh.
"See yah" she lets out before heading towards the alcohol.
I lean up against the cold brick wall and it only took a matter of minutes before more people started showing up. After a few more minutes, I got up to get drinks so I could try and loosen myself out a bit.
Some chick named Ashley came up to me and asked to dance. The music was so loud that nobody could hear a single word. Ashley and I kept on dancing for the fun of it, not doing anything too inappropriate.
"Jessica, come dance!" She tries to yell, but ends just grabbing her other mildly drunk friend. The party felt more alive and I started getting bursts of energy.
Suddenly, I had three girls all up on me, all dancing with each other and waving their cups around. Out of nowhere, the third girl grabs my face and smashes our mouths together. I slightly push her off of me and head towards the couch. And of course, the other two girls had to come over. They were on either side of me and I was getting squished in the middle.
"Can we kiss you?" One of them asks me.
I was all about experience and might as well go all out tonight. I didn't find making out with girls hot, but instead just fun. I felt nothing from it and so I was constantly dancing and making out with girls just to well... fit in I guess.
I shake my head yes to the girls and start kissing them for the heck of it. I reach over and grab Ashley's face, pushing the other girl off of the couch. The kissing turns into full face grabbing and making out on the black leather couch. I didn't mean for this to escalate, but it just kind of happened.
"Want to get out of here?" She yells.
I don't even hesitate before shouting "No thanks!" She shrugs, but then pulls away.
"I love this song, come dance with me!" She takes my hand and pulls me over to the dance floor. I didn't feel interested anymore and mainly wanted to just leave and go outside. Turning something down wasn't really something I was good at, so I decided to just dance with her one last time.
The last song ended and I pulled away to go leave. That was until I noticed Even in the corner of the room. His eyes shot towards Eva and... is that P.Chris? I wanted nothing more badly than to walk over and pull him off of her, but I had to restrain myself.
Eva must have snuck P.Chris into the party without any of us knowing.
Without hesitation, I grab the girl's arm again. She smirks and I was going to make this last dance the best.
"Such a Boy" by Astrid S came on and it was at the perfect timing. I had a feeling that Even would try and look for me and I wanted to get his attention some way. This wasn't the smartest way, but getting a reaction from him tonight was better than not getting one at all.
The girl and I started dancing and jamming to the music. As soon as the base dropped, she grabbed my face forward and started pulling our mouths together. I place one hand on her neck and the other around her side. I finally built up the courage and lifted my head up, hoping to somehow make eye contact with Even. I immediately realize that he's not in the same area, but instead he's at the other side of the room.
"Hey let's go on this side of the room" I say loudly into the blonde girl's ear.
She reaches for my hand and we carefully make our way through the crowd. To make it less obvious, we hide ourselves behind another group of people. At this point, Even was exactly across the room from us. I would be able to meet eyes with him perfectly.
"This is the plan" I talk loudly into her ear.
"See that guy in the white t-shirt? You're going to dance us over there and make me face his direction. I'm trying to make him jealous."
"Sure, let's go!" She practically screams inside my ear.
I was hoping that she somehow didn't know who Even was. Guessing by her annoying group of friends, I'd guess not.
Ashley grabs my arm and quickly turns me around into the right direction. Right as the music drops, she pulls me by the collar and starts kissing me. I look upwards and notice Even looking around the room. I get lost staring at him. I keep slowly moving my lips but my mind is in a complete different universe.
As I was losing hope, he suddenly faces forward and our eyes meet. I stood there, heart stopped, feeling as if I forgot how to breathe.
I wait for him to break the gaze, but he doesn't. I snap back into reality and place my hands tighter around the girl's sides. We start moving our mouths along to the rhythm of the music.
I didn't know what was going on inside my body. It was as if my heart literally stopped. I went from feeling nothing to feeling everything.
Even must have realized and disappeared from the room. I wanted him to stay, but I was also glad that he left at the same time. I had no idea what was going on or how to feel.
All I knew was that I really really wanted to get out of this place.
