Excuse any mistakes!

Seattle, Washington
Next morning

Naomi sat two cups of coffee on the table for Malia and Scarlett before taking a seat herself. They were giving her an update on the case after talking with everyone involved. She was eager to hear what charges would be brought on him, if any at all.

"Thank you." The two women spoke simultaneously.

"No problem." Naomi responded, bringing her mug up to her lips before taking a sip of her hot chocolate.

"How have you been?" Scarlett asked.

"I'm okay. Just been trying to keep it simple and not do too much. I'm glad you two came over today because I needed to get up. Being in that bed all day takes so much out of me." Naomi explained.

"Probably the first few days, it was okay. You needed the rest." Malia chuckled to herself. "Now, you're anxious to get back healthy."

"Exactly." Naomi agreed.

"Well, hopefully your recovery is short."

Naomi sat her mug on the table. "What's going on though? It sounded urgent over the phone."

"As you know, we've been trying to get criminal charges brought against Jared Fisk, but the State Attorney is hesitating. Mr. Fisk is saying that he was in fear of his life and you were challenging his authority. A bunch of bull, I know." Scarlett looked at her.

"But," Malia jumped in. "I got a little friend in the FBI who is currently investigating the police department here. The thing about Seattle's police force is that Federal officers such as Remy and Ryan oversee what they do. Of course it won't be them that will do the investigating, but I think this will be in our favor. If they find some things, the Justice Department will file federal charges immediately."

Naomi sighed softly, and shook her head. "He was trying to I.D. Messiah when he didn't have that right. I challenged his authority by knowing our rights?"

"Well, Ryan has already dug up some dirt on Mr. Fisk and this is not his first go round. Apparently he has anger issues that they're trying to hide." Scarlett said before taking a sip of her coffee.

"You're going to release it?" Naomi looked at the two of them.

"No." Malia shook her head. "I don't want to give them any chance to defend that claim. Have to play it smart because police officers like Fisk are highly regarded and respected in the community."

"So, we wait now?"

"We filed a civil suit, too. The city can pay you while we wait for criminal charges to be brought against him." Malia looked at her.

Naomi nodded her head. "Okay."

"Don't worry. I have a feeling that the Justice Department will file charges. Ryan's fiancé, Derrick, works in the Civil Rights Division."

"That's good." Naomi sighed. "Wait, why is she on this side of the United States?"

"Well, he just got the job a couple of months back." Scarlett explained as she gathered up her things. "She put in her transfer to go to D.C."
