Seattle, Washington

Amir rushed into the busy hospital with blurred vision. He was trying his best to keep his emotions in check. When he and Rayne made it home, they turned on the tv and saw the news. Remy was just a second too late. The video of the police assault had instantly went viral. Seeing his sister defenseless and having to go through that made Amir feel helpless once more.

The media attention was much crazier considering that Zeke and Naomi were very wealthy. They were two young CEO's and that made viewers defeated. It doesn't matter what you're wearing, what kind of money you have, or how you present yourself, being black is the ultimate crime.

The receptionist ordered him to the sixth floor which meant that she was in critical care. His pace slowed down as he approached the room because he was scared, to say the least. He peeped in the room seeing Remy sitting in the chair across from the bed.

Nia was sleep in her arms and someone he didn't recognize was sitting in the chair beside the bed. The two locked eyes, and Amir thought he looked oddly familiar. Amir walked into the room, finally looking at Naomi and he had to blink his tears away.

It seemed like she was hooked up to every machine imaginable. Remy finally noticed that he was in the room, and her face was red. She'd be crying ever since she watched the video. Remy took an oath to protect and serve. Seeing her colleagues abuse their power made her sick to her stomach. It didn't sit well with her.

"Hey." She greeted Amir.

His eyes never left Naomi as he walked closer to her bedside. "How is she?"

"No bullshit?" Remy asked.

Amir nodded his head. "No bullshit."

Remy sighed heavily. "She has a severe concussion, a fractured rib cage, and a severe neck injury. Luckily, it wasn't her spine because the officer was sitting on top of her."

Amir flexed his jaw muscles, finally allowing a tear to escape his eyes. "Damn, Mimi." He said in a whisper.

"She's going to be okay." Remy assured him while laying her head on top of Nia's. "God got her."

Running his hand down his face, Amir wiped a few tears before looking over at Messiah. "Who you?"

Messiah glanced at Remy before looking at Amir. "Family."

For some reason, Amir didn't need any further explanation. He just nodded his head, squeezing Naomi's hand.

"Where's Rayne?" Remy asked.

"She went to go get Zeke out of jail."

"Well, Naomi's lawyers are on their way. They told us not to leave the room. You didn't say anything to the media out there did you?" Remy looked at him.

He shook his head no. "Nah, I just wanted to get up here to her." Amir licked his lips. "Who her lawyers? I know she was hiring new ones."

"Scarlett and Malia Valentine. Scarlett is on a flight from D.C and Malia is coming from LA."

         "They good?" He asked.
