I never returned to my chambers that night. There are two reasons ; first, because I am angry with Leon, and secondly, I do not want to see him anymore.
I went to find Merlin, but I couldn't find him anywhere. I finally found him in his chambers, but I couldn't find Lancelot anywhere. When I did find Merlin, he was shocked to find me in his chambers.
"Merlin? Have you seen Lancelot?" I asked.
"He left Camelot just a while ago." He answered.
"Did he tell you where he was going?" I asked again.
I really need to know. I have to find Lancelot, maybe even try to leave my old life behind, running away from everything. When he shook his head, I quickly slammed his door shut, "Bye Merlin I have to go!" I yelled over my shoulder.
-
I rode towards the meadows, where I hoped to find Lancelot's tracks. When I did not, however, I was ambushed by bandits, and was nearly killed, I was shocked to find Lancelot coming and slashing the bandit who tried to kill me with his sword.
"Lancelot!" I exclaimed.
"Come on, it's not safe here." He urged me.
While walking over branches and pushing past large leaves, he asked, "Why have you come here?" His tone sounded almost annoyed.
"I didn't choose this life," I repeated, "I want to be with you. Only you."
"Prove it," he challenged, waiting for me to react.I slipped the marriage ring off my finger, and pressed my lips against his, pushed myself closer to him, and waiting for him to react.
He pulls me closer to him, and I could feel the force when he returns the kiss. I let the ring slip off my hands and it drops on the ground silently, it already has the blood stains from the battles I have fought.
We had to pull away because we were gasping for air. And he quickly led me away from danger. When both of us made fire for the night, he asked me questions about my life in Camelot.
"Do you and Leon have a..?" He trailed off, looking at me then at the flames.
"A daughter. Her name is Ava Antionette." I answered shortly."Ava Antionette," Lancelot repeated carefully, "Sounds like a good name."
I nodded, "Yeah. She's angry when she found out that I am the Captain of Camelot. I never want to tell her about my identity." I shook my head."Does Leon know that you took the ring off?" He asked.
I sighed, "I tried to do it once before. But he stopped me from doing it. Uther told me to marry him all of a sudden-and I were to do it if not, he would fire me from my job as the Captain."
"And you love the job, so you struck a deal." He finished.
"Precisely. I don't even know why he cares about me." I agreed. "I just...don't want to live with that life pretending I actually love him that much."
"Should we get back to Camelot?" He suggested.
I shook my head, "No, no..please..I don't want to go back." I said. "I told you...I want to leave my life behind."
"You have to. The whole kingdom will be searching for you." Lancelot argued.
"No! I-"I was interrupted by Lancelot himself, because battle cries rang the air, and then out of the dark I could see bandits popping out from behind the shades of the dark night trees and as quick as lightning they tied the both of us together back-to-back.
"Reveal yourselves!" The leader ordered.
"Lancelot, knight of Camelot." Lancelot said, trying to struggle free.
"And you, little girl?" The leader cocked his head at me.I scowled, "Aurora, Captain of Camelot." I snapped, and spit at his face. I received a very hard slap from him. But I didn't cry. It's just a slap anyway.
"You will learn to respect me, or it will be a dead fall for your friend." The leader spat.
I narrowed my eyes, "Idiot," I muttered under my breath.
The leader whirled around sharply, "What is that?"
"Nothing," I gave him an innocent smile.
