I even saw the leader standing beside Lancelot smiling widely. He looks differently than the one that captured both Lancelot and I. I practically stomped down the aisle, "What is the meaning of this?" I demanded.
"You're getting married," The leader replied.
Lancelot shrugged, "He's uh..my friend."
"A friend who tried to capture us and take us halfway around the world?" I gave him a bored look.
"He's that guy. I'm sure he does not mean harm." Lancelot whispered.
"So you're asking me to pretend?" I hissed. When he nodded, I gave a roll of my eyes.
"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you-"
The leader was interrupted by the bursting of doors, and I could see Arthur, Leon, Elyan, Percival and Gwaine in position, ready to pounce, their swords raised.
It was an awkward silence, then the leader pointed at them, yelling "Seize them!" And now all the bandits stood up from their seats and unsheathed their swords.
"Wait! I want to see who they are before uhm...you cut their body parts apart." I stopped them. It's just pretend. I told myself, and winked at Lancelot. He nodded curtly in understanding.
I walked down the aisle and grabbed Leon's throat, "This is all just pretend. When I faint in front of you, they are going to think you killed me. Now I want all of you to run to where the door is and Lancelot and I will follow you. Do I make myself clear?" I said through clenched teeth and in a voice only they can hear.
"How is this all pretend?" Arthur hissed.
"These are the remains of Cenred's army you loser." I whispered softly, "Unfortunately, Lancelot and I ran into them unexpectedly and they sort of forced us to marry. Lancelot said it was just pretend anyway." I glanced at Leon, "Don't take this too seriously."
"What door?" Elyan hissed.
"The door where you came from you idiot!" I told them softly.
Lancelot joined us and handed me a blade, and I accepted it, slicing the front of my chest where I cut through the buttons with the blade, and it came open, instead of my bare body, underneath the dress I actually had my chainmail uniform on, and I already have my sword sheathed.
"Help me! I feel dizzy!" I screamed dramatically.
The bandits stared at me.
"Do something you idiots! I'm dying!" I yelled.
When they came at us, I threw the silk dress at them, and aimed my two heels at their necks. I quickly slipped on some boots from a random bandit and unsheathed my sword, "Go! Now!"
At my signal, they burst through the open door, and ran for the hills. Lancelot and I were the last to leave, and we closed the door and barricaded it for good measure before following the others.
"We only have one extra horse. Aurora, you ride with Leon." Arthur told us as Lancelot swung himself on the extra horse. I narrowed my eyes at Arthur who gave me his usual shrug but did as I was told.
I swung on the saddle behind Leon and they rode for Camelot. I sat behind him uncomfortably, and everytime there is a bump on the path or when Arthur led the group forward in a speed that is too fast to follow, I will be forced to wrap my arms around his waist to balance myself and not try to fall.
I let go of the grasp once we reached Camelot, and he dismounted first. He spread out his arms to support me while I dismount, but I totally ignored him and just jump down easily.
Ava ran down the granite steps to greet me in a teddy bear hug, and since I was facing Leon and as he met my gaze, I felt myself smile at him for the very first time.
