I immediately choked, puffing out my chest and coughing at the same time, "What?" I cleared my throat just as Merlin arrives carrying a package.

Merlin notices that I am coughing and glances at Gauis, who tried to pretend he was innocent but he wasn't. I glanced at Gauis, "Married?"

Merlin shot Gauis a look that I did not notice, and I cannot stop worrying in my own mind. How was I supposed to be married I barely even met this guy!

"Yes, Gauis is right. You are." Merlin narrowed his eyes at Gauis. "I have evidence that you do." He lifted my hand and pointed at a ring that had a dragon on it, "That is the ring Leon gave you."

I examined it, all these years I have never noticed that I had actually had it. I never took it off. Never in my life, actually. Annis never told me that I had it after I had been knocked off cold.

"How was I married?" I asked Merlin.

"You love him. And he loves you." He answered.

Now I think I am the one making the mistake. I quickly rushed out of Gauis's chambers, running while breathing heavily as I ran down the hallway.

I did make the mistake. I got mad at him. I left him after the Great Battle. I stopped dead in my tracks when below me in the courtyard I saw Leon talking to a random girl and she was giggling, before she reached up and kissed him lightly on the cheek.

I'm not sure if Leon had noticed me. But he bent down to return her kiss. I was so ... heartbroken, maybe? I can't tell. Merlin caught up to me and he stood beside me.

"Aurora, what's happened?" Merlin asked.

"I'm too late," my shoulders sagged.

"Who is she?" He asked.

"The Princess Mithian. I heard that she was once his friend."

"That might not me why she is doing that." Merlin followed my gaze.

I shook my head, "That's fine. I don't even know why I cared." I turned to walk away when I heard Leon call my name. So he did notice me.

"Aurora, come meet Princess Mithian." Leon said.

I drew in a sharp breath, Merlin gave me a look of encouragement so I jogged down the steps and approached Mithian. She has that look of disgust when she saw me.

"Mithian," I gave one nod at her.

"Aurora," Mithian grinned so fake, "Leon's told me a lot about you. You make a perfect wife towards him."

I quirked my brows, "How did you know?"

Mithian rolled her eyes and scoffed, "Uhm, the identical rings you both have on your fingers? Isn't that like, obvious?"

"Yes, it is." Leon chuckled.

"Arthur's hosting a ball later tonight." I sound cocky, I told myself, "I'll see you then, Princess Mithian." I turned from them and walked up the granite steps and stomped my way back to my chambers to get dressed.

-

I jumped when Leon burst into my chambers. Thankfully, it would be two more hours before the ball, and I have not yet changed.

"Why are you doing this?" He practically yelled.

"Doing what?" I whined, not annoyed. Just angry.

"Mithian took most of her time coming here," he said.

"And what? Is that supposed to make me pity her?" I scoffed.

"I don't know why you are acting like this."

"You kissed her right in front of me!" I shouted, "So you're caring about her more than me."

He kept quiet, looking at me intently.

"If that's so," I snapped, reading his expression. As I reach down to get the ring off of my finger, his hand shot out to stop me. I could feel heat rising up in me.

"Please, don't." He said, looking at me.

As I opened my mouth to speak, he cut me off, "I just want the both of us to be together, nothing more. I am not looking for any trouble. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings."
