"A-Accident?" Jacqueline whispered, more tears flowing from her ears at this new, unexpected revelation.

"Yeah," the voice sighed. "Happened about five days ago at night. He and two of our friends got injured. Who, who are you?"

"I-I am his. . . friend," am I? "How is h-his condition? I mean doesn't surgery happen one t-time?"

"It does, it does. But the crash was severe. We haven't been able to find the culprit yet as well," after a pause he asked, "Are you a close friend of his? Because he has been talking to a girl these past few days."

He cares about me, so I have to be a close friend to him, right?

"Yes, I am a c-close friend," Jacqueline answered. "And he h-hadn't been replying to me so I got worried. You'll i-inform me once you find the culprit, right?"

"Sure," the person said. His voice sounded weak and tired.

"T-Tell him that-"

"I have to go, the doctor is here," the person suddenly said. "Bye."

And the line went dead.

Antonio grabbed Jacqueline's hand in an assuring way as her body started shaking and tears flew from her eyes like a waterfall now. She didn't know what had happened, or why it had happened. But it just had. And as far as she knew, Francis was a good boy. What did he do to deserve this?

What?

"Shh, Jacqueline," Antonio soothed her as patted her back continuously. "Whatever it is, it's going to be fine. It's going to be fine."

But no matter how many times Antonio repeated this to her, she still didn't believe him. Because Francis was in a hospital, and she could not do anything to save him, much less even help him.

The tears still travelled down her cheeks, and she kept on crying the whole day.

Things are getting worse, and I can feel the intensity of this book. Drama is something that I prefer in books, and if they kept on having simple and happy conversations, wouldn't that be boring? Comment if you think that.

And well, come back tomorrow to hear what the doctor has to say and pray that he has good news!
