Legolas walked through the forest, in sorrow. He had diminished every kind of trace of orc, even goblins that resemble orcs. He knew she was gone, this only made him madder at himself. For not being there, and not getting to her in time.
He trudged to the entrance of mirrkwood and looked at the large wide mahogany carves doors lined with gold. " My lord legolas?" the guard asked ready to open the gates. Legolas looked at the gates of that magnificent city. He could see the ghost of tauriel walking from the door ready for battle. He realized then that he could never be there if she were not with him.
" Tell my father i take my leave and good bye. I will go north and finish what i started, he will understand." The guard nodded and spoke to another guard who went off to send the message. Legolas looked at mirkwood one last time and then turned to go back into the forest, that he had done so many times........ with Tauriel.
As legolas walked he had thought to himself " What if she wasn't dead?" He had not gone back for he would not be able to fathom if the healers told him there was no more hope. So he just simply did not go back, for if he did......... he should die of grief.
As he was walking along he had the strangest feeling that some one was following him! After an hour of this he decided to take a brake. He made quick fire and sat down. About a half an hour later Legolas decided to leave before putting out the fire he stood up and looked out upon the lake on which he was on the banks of. Then suddenly..... Crack! A twig snapped behind him.
He carefully felt his bow. Then like lightning he spun around ready to shoot his opponent. Only this opponent was the last person he expected. " Tauriel !!!" his heart dropped into his stomach. She was more beautiful than he remembered ! Though badly beaten and bruised with a bandage on her leg and her arm, which was supposed to be in a sling. But then it's tauriel she never listens!
But the rosy pinkness had come back to her cheeks and the fire was burning even brighter in her long locks of hair. But most of all the life was back in her big greenish eyes.
" I do believe you told me that i could not hunt 30 orcs on my own, yet you try to hunt the rest of the orcs on middle earth alone. My lord legolas i cant believe that you thought you could get rid of me so easily!" She said pretending to sound serious.
Legolas said nothing he just started walking towards her. One step. Then another. Then right next to her. Legolas felt her cheek with his hand as if to make sure she was real. Then with both hands he held her face and kissed her long but gently. He had not smiled for so long. For a while he just held her in his arms.
Finally he lifted her face to see that there was tear streaks. " Legolas...... I must tell you something." Legolas leaned in to listen. " I love you legolas, and i always have, and always will. I knew that i could not ask you to pledge your self to a lonely silven elf such as my self so i always pushed my feelings away." she said almost crying " I'm sorry that i hurt you." she let out a small weep.
" What about the dwarf? I know he loved you......... Did you love him?" Legolas said his voice shaky not knowing if he wanted to hear the answer. Tauriel stayed quiet for a while. " No........ I thought i did but after he died and when you were gone i had a lot of time to think about it. I was trying rid myself of the pain of not having you and when i found someone who could love me.......... I decided to take that. Forgive me legolas, i was blind."
He kissed her head " There is nothing to forgive. Tauriel, will you marry me? I would give my immortality to have one mortal life with you. " he said hope finally in his eyes. " What about your father you are to marry nobility? He will never approve-" " Don't worry about my father." he interrupted " I he knows i will never be happy without you.And if he is still stubborn...... Well we can work some thing out. So are you gonna answer my question?"
Tauriel broke into a smile and rapped her arms around his neck. " Now I'm sure that there are still alot more orcs running through middle earth, and it's pretty obvious that you cant deal with them all on your own. So i think we should get going." Tauriel said with a challenging smile. " I'm sure i could do it on my own, but if you think you can be of help to me," He smirked but stopped talking when Tauriel gave him the look. " Try to keep up." He smirked again and kisses her on the nose. And they were off finally gaining back every thing they had lost and so much more.
