It didn't take us long to get ready for the party. Cat had helped me with my hair and we were set. I was nervous about seeing Alpha Colton again but with Cat's help, I felt more confident than I did in the car. Cat went downstairs first and was announced. I was surprised that it was this fancy of  a party but I also knew that Alpha Colton was prissy enough to demand this.

A hand slipped in mine as I waited. I turned to see Logan wearing nothing but his best. His hair was combed neatly and he looked freshly shaven. I smiled at him as he looped my arm with his. We were the second to last people to arrive. Alpha Colton and his daughter would be the last.

With a nod to the announcer,  Logan and I descended the stairs. I tensed as every eye in the room turned towards us. I saw happiness in a lot of the pack but also great fear. Did what Alpha Colton threaten us yesterday reach all of them already? Logan patted my hand and I instantly calmed. It was amazing what he could do to me so quickly. Brody stepped up onto the steps right below us and cleared his throat.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the Alpha and his mate would like to sincerely thank you for coming to this party to welcome Alpha Colton Steward and his daughter, Nipel Steward. They will be arriving any minute now so please enjoy, be merry." Brody boomed. His voice carried over the crowd and I'm sure he could be heard from the third floor. I could also hear the underlying warning. If these people didn't act, convincingly, like they were enjoying the night then it wouldn't turn out so well when Alpha Colton arrived.

Logan and I walked down the rest of the stairs and went to stand next to Cat. She looked amazing in her dress. She wore these gloves that were made of black lace which made her look like she truly walked out of a manga page.

"Nice speech bro." Cat said punching his arm. Logan smirked and rolled his eyes but I could sense how tense he was starting to get. "So once they show up, the party will move to the ballroom to give more room to dance and move around."

"I was about to say, it's a bit crowded right now." I laughed.

"Tends to happen when big bro throws a soiree." Cat smiled as she watched a few girls walk by.

"So have you ever met Nipel?" I asked as Logan went off after Tanner walked by.

"Once when I was a little girl. She's my age but she acted like she had a stick up her butt. Her father forbade her from playing with me so I never spoke to her. Sad really." She shrugged.

"She was never allowed to be a kid then. That is sad." I sighed as the front doors opened. Cat tensed and started sniffing. "You o...."

"Mate." Cat growled. I looked at her and then at the open doors. There were too many people there to see who was up there but I knew it had to be the Alpha. Was one of the guards Cat's mate?

Logan was by my side then. He took my arm and we made our way to the front. He had plastered a fake smile on his face and I attempted to do the same. I ended up settling for a lazy smile. Something that wasn't too bright but wasn't underwhelming.

"Please welcome our honored guests, Alpha Colton Steward and his lovely daughter Nipel Steward." Brody boomed from the stairs and everyone instantly started clapping. Logan and I joined in and started clapping too. Alpha Colton entered with his daughter right behind him.

She looked quietly over the crowd without much of an expression and stood behind her father as he raised his hands up.

"Thank you all for the DELAYED welcome." He growled. "Now shall we continue on with the party and bypass all the pleasantries?"

Brody took the queue and announced that everyone was to make their way to the ballroom. As Nipel followed her father passed us, I thought I heard her gasp quietly. But when I looked at her face it was the same as always. Logan took my arm again and we followed everyone into the ballroom where music started playing.
