Chapter 6-
The dark mahogany double doors opened and we walked in to do the finishing touches for Sams’ party. There wasn’t much that needed doing as the hotel were doing the food as part of the deal for hiring the room but Tracy had brought some 19 balloons and banners. Asking one of the barmen to help her she got to work. The place was amazing, stairs at the other end of the room that opened like a mouth of a river onto the wooden dance floor. On either side of the stairs was a bar with two men at each. All of the barmen were dressed in a white shirt with a black skinny tie and waistcoat. Joe and Amy walked in with five massive sliver balloons an ‘S’ ‘A’ ‘M’ ‘1’ and ‘9’. Both Joe and Rhys were in suits. Amy and Megan were in formal maxi dresses; Amy’s was coral to compliment her bright blue eyes whereas Megan’s was teal, showing off her tan. I was wearing my black Hell Bunny dress, knee length with a sweet heart corset and my treasured black and purple Iron Fist shoes. ‘Want a drink?’ Joe came up to me. ‘Oh wait I forgot your only 16 ha ha,’
‘I bet I can get served,’
‘If you get served I’ll pay for all your drinks for the rest of the night.’
‘Deal,’ I said holding out my hand. We shock and I took £10 out of my clutch. I walked over to the nearest barman; he put away the wine glass he was cleaning.
‘What can I get you?’
‘A bottle of Bud and a small glass of chardonnay please.’ I smiled, he better not ask for my age, I could feel Joes yes watching waiting for me to walk back empty handed.
‘That will be £6.50 please.’ Yes, get in. I smiled again and handed over the money. I put the change in my bag and walked over and gave Joe his drink.
‘You owe me £6.50.’

Soon after the party was in full swing, everyone had turned up and already people were getting tipsy. Sam made his way through the sea of people over to me and Megan. ‘Hey come and dance, you two are the only ones on the side.’
‘It’s ok, I’m more of a watcher and Megan mixed her drinks and isn’t feeling too good.’
‘I don’t care it’s my party and everyone has to dance. Rhys come over here. Make Kat dance.’ Rhys smiled sympathetically at me; he knew my fear of dance unless I was so drunk I couldn’t remember it the next day. I took his hand and left Megan with Sam, I knew he wasn’t going to stop until we both got moving. Rhys led me to the middle of the floor. I stood there frozen to the spot. Oh god why?
‘Come on Kat, at least move.’ Rhys laughed. He grabbed my hands and started to move me side to side. ‘That’s better.’
‘Oh shut up,’ I smiled. Joe came over with one of his colleagues. ‘Hey.’
‘Hey you remember Adam right?’ Joe asked. Adam that was his name.
‘Yeah of course, hi Adam.’
‘He looked a bit lost, Aaron is a little occupied.’ Joe laughed. I looked at Rhys confused, and then followed my gaze to the direction Joe was pointing in. And there, grinding up and down a drunken Aaron was Lorna. Before Rhys could hold me back I was marching through people to get to that bitch. How did she even get here? Megan had seen her and had snapped out of her drunken state and run towards me trying to bloke me from getting to her. I pushed past Megan and reached Aaron and the slut.
‘Excuse me Aaron,’ I mustered to say without a bit of venom in my voice. Aaron moved and Lorna looked at who had stopped her slutty dancing. With one swift move I punched her in the face. Not able to take the force of the punch she fell backwards.
