Aaron's POV (weren't expecting that were you?):
Aaron heard his stepbrother be called by dad and was instantly starting worrying. Truth is: even though it may not seem like it, James and him truly do care for their stepbrother-even if he gets on my nerves-and the only reason they're nasty to him is so they don't get cast out or disowned. Which is why Aaron eavesdrops on their conversation.

"What's going on?" James joins him at the door cracked open so they can peek into the room father and Alex are in.

"I don't know but dad just called Alex to talk to him about something-" He was cut off by also being called into the room along with James.

"Boys...and whoreson....I have great news! I just received word that the king is throwing a ball to find a wife for his son, which we'll be attending!"

"But we're not gir-"

"No but the king also has two daughters, Angelica and Eliza, that you can marry!"

"And Peggy! She's also one of his daughters...couldn't we also marry her?" James had heard stories about the first two sisters and what they were capable off, especially when they thought they were being hit on.

"Should I write them back telling them that the four of us accept and will be attending?" After a few seconds of silence, it was broken by a loud smack. Thomas looked like he was about to blow.

"Wow you're more stupid than I thought. What makes you think you're coming? Or even that I would be seen with an immigrant bastard? You will write that three will be in attendance. Nothing more, nothing less. Dismissed." Poor Alex. He's like a slave to father: always working but never getting anything from it. Maybe I'll sneak him some extra Mac and Cheese at dinner when father isn't looking...

The three then proceed to go to a tailor to get fitted before the ball in two days. Aaron could honestly care less about marrying royalty, he just wants a nice girl to love but that's not an option with father. Maybe I'll meet some other girl at the ball and maybe convince father to let me be with her instead? He would probably let me as long as one of his sons marries a princess and I'm pretty sure James has his eye on the little one...I'll just have to wait and see...

Alex's POV:
Holding his still stinging cheek, Alex trudges his way upstairs to his room in the attic. It could be worse...actually no. No it can't. Anyway, Alex usually loves when he's left home alone because that's when he didn't have to worry about getting yelled at but he knew if he didn't write the letter now something worse would happen to him.

He shouldn't worry though, he's really fast at writing, so he could probably get the letter done and mailed out in like 10 minutes. Probably even faster typing. Unfortunately Alex didn't have a laptop, or any technology except a pathetic little flip phone. He's not even allowed to use it to contact anyone except for Thomas and the boys.

Wow. My life is really depressing. By the time Alex was done moping about his horrible life, he realized he had already finished the letter so he made his way out to mail it.

The mailbox wasn't far from the house so it wasn't a long walk. However, there was a tall baguette attempting to figure out what hole to put his letter into.

"Want some help with that?" He gives Alex a slightly confused look before finally answering:

"Oui s'il vous plaît, je ne suis pas habitué à l'Amérique pour le moment et j'utilise habituellement le courrier électronique et oh, dieu, je suis divinisé et vous ne parlez même pas Français...."(Rough translation: Yes please, I'm not used to America yet and I usually use email and oh god I'm rambling and you probably don't even speak french...)

"Whoah, whoah. Slow down. Oui, je peux parler français et ça ne me dérange pas du tout." (Rough Translation: Yes, I can speak french and I don't mind at all.) And with that, the strange man started squealing over meeting someone who spoke French finally. Then the question came:

"How do you know French?" Crap. I should've known he would ask that. Alex explains that he had a personal tutor when Washington was still...around....

After profusely apologizing, the man offered for Alex to go to his house. He normally wouldn't accept something like that out of fear but he knew that Jefferson and them weren't going to be home till late and considering it was still pretty early in the morning, Alex said yes.

"Oh, by the way, je m'appelle Lafayette. You?"

"Hamilton. Alexander Hamilton."

"THE Alexander Hamilton?!" Alex looks over at his new...friend?...confused. I'm not known for anything, what's with the 'THE'? The only response Alex gets is being pulled toward and into his house at inhuman speed.
