Getting along

The day we started to get along better, I felt as if I was floating, I was in a happy place, no pain, no fights, no screams, no lies. Peaceful, so peaceful that I could stay here for the rest of my life, but of course, they had to call my name, pulling me back. "Catalina! Call the pack doctor, dad call the pack doctor!" Sloan shouted out as he lifted my upper body up on his lap, my rolling eyes watching him blurry. "You're going to be okay." He picked me up from the floor and walked me out of the living room.

The last thing I remember was Sloan placing me on the bed and then, nothing. I just know that I was in paradise until someone rudely opened my eyes to blind them with a flashlight. I blinked my eyes as I moved the doctor's hand away, "She's fine but I took some blood to run some tests." I looked down at my arm as I touched the plaster in the crook of my elbow.

"Okay, thanks for coming." Sloan said as the doctor put his things away and stood up, "I was just doing my job, if anything happens call me." The doctor touched Sloan's shoulder before he made his way toward the door and got out.

"I'll leave you to rest." I nodded my head at him, turning to the side as I closed my eyes, "Cata! You're okay." Samantha shouted as the bed bounced and I turned around just as she went to pull me into a hug and hug me tightly, "I was so scared."

"It's okay, I'm fine now." I brushed her hair as I pulled away to give her a smile, "Sammy, father is waiting for you." She shook her head as she hugged me again, "No, I want to stay with Cata." I looked up at Sloan as I shook my head at him, "It's okay, I feel better now."

"No, Catalina needs to rest Samantha." Sloan said as he made his way toward her, "Okay, get well soon Cata." She kissed my cheeks as Sloan took her away. "Why did you do that? I'm feeling better and having her around makes me feel more comfortable, I'm fine." I pushed my body up as I stared at him, "Just because you are feeling better doesn't mean that you're okay Catalina."

"Whatever." I accommodated my head on the pillow as I closed my eyes, the darkness taking over me.

When I woke up, my stomach was growling madly. Of course, I haven't been eating. I removed the sheets and sat up, swinging my legs off the bed as I stood up and made my way toward the bathroom. I stood before the sink, opening the tap as I washed my face, staring up into the mirror. My face was pale, dark moons under my eyes and bloat cheeks. I leaned down and washed my face again, grabbing my toothbrush and toothpaste to brush my teeth.

When I was finished, I washed my mouth, my toothbrush and sink as I put everything back in its place. I stretched my body with a hum, removing my clothes as I stepped into the shower. I opened the tap and let the water pour down on me, washing my face and moving down my arms as I washed my body.

After my shower, I dried off and got dressed to go downstairs. When I entered the dining room no one was there. How late is it? I made my way inside and sat down, "Glad to see you better Luna." I glanced up as one of the maids came out, I think her name was Dana. "You want something to eat? We were just about to take your food into your room, the Alpha just ate about five minutes ago and left to his office. He didn't want to wake you up, after what happened yesterday."

I nodded my head understandingly, "It's okay, I'd like to eat here. I'm feeling better." The maid bowed her head and left, coming in after with the tray in her hands and placed the food before me, taking the tray away. "Enjoy."

"Thank you Dana." She bowed her head and left so I could eat in peace. It was boring eating alone, I can't deny the fact that eating with Sloan felt less quiet and more appealing. I finished eating and decided to watch a movie in the living room. I pushed my chair back as I stood up  and walked out of the dining room.

I made my way to the living room and bit down my nail, how does it work again? I turned on the TV and looked around for the remote. I sat down on the sofa and curled up my legs beneath me as I changed the channels. I stopped scrolling and placed the remote on the table, after two minutes into the movie, I found myself laughing hard.
