A Reason to Live (Jensen Ackles)

Chapter 16

A/N- Just a tiny note. Yes, that is Jared being hugged by Jensen. I've seen the video before but I don't remember what it was about.

One Week Later 

Daniel had taken me shopping the next day. I bought so many clothes that I didn't think it would all fit in my closet. It did, of course. 

Danneel was insistent on buying me all kinds of jewelry so I could have stuff to put in the jewelry box I got. I got at least five pairs of shoes. I also bought everything I would need to take care of myself. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and stuff like that. I also got a couple bottles of perfume. Most importantly, Danneel bought me a phone as well as a plan to go with it. 

We also ate lunch at a nice restaurant in the area. We bonded so much that day and we were closer than ever now. It was amazing. 

Today, I had spent the day watching all of my favorite Supernatural episodes. I had watched The French Mistake, Mystery Spot, Yellow Fever, Dog Dean Afternoon, and I was currently watching the 200th episode. I had been watching in my room because I didn't want to bother anybody else. I was laughing at the brothers when Jensen walked in. 

"What are you laughing at?" 

I laughed before turning the screen so he could see. 

"You're watching the 200th episode?" 

I smiled while I continued to watch. 

"Uh-huh. It's my favorite." 

"Yeah. It's actually one of my favorites as well. Is this what you've been doing all day?" 

I just nodded this time enthralled with the show.

"Well, I just-" 

"Shhhhh!!!! This is my favorite part!" 

It was the part when Carry On Wayward Son was being sung. I heard Jensen's laugh before he shut up. 

After the song was over, I paused it and turned to him. 

"Okay, what were you saying?" 

He laughed again and started speaking. 

"You really love the show don't you." 

"Uh-huh!" 

"Wow. The love you guys have for the show is really incredible. It really is. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that someone was coming over. We're gonna hang out and eat dinner. Probably swim in the pool for a little." 

"Who?" 

"Jared." 

I looked at him, already getting excited. 

"Really?!" 

"Yeah. He should probably be here pretty soon too. When this episode's finished just come down." 

"Okay!" 

With that, he left and I finished the episode. 

When I reached the bottom of the stairs, Jensen was walking around with Justice on his shoulders. I sighed sadly. This was one of the things that dad's and daughters did together. I never got to do that and I never will either. 

As my mood was slowly dropping, the doorbell rang. Jensen walked over to the door and opened it while I stepped back out of view. I could see them, but they couldn't see me. 

Before, I had been excited to officially meet Jared. Now, I was nervous, very nervous. The last time I saw him was when it happened. When I got the call that my family had been killed. 

Jared stepped into the door and Justice ran over to hug his legs. Jared also gave Jensen a bro hug and Danneel came in from the kitchen. Jared bent down and placed a kiss on her cheek before hugging her. When they parted, she walked back to the kitchen to continue what she was doing. 

I saw Jared look around the room and my heart started to beat frantically knowing he was looking for me. 

"Where's Bella?" 

Jensen looked around before turning back to Jared. 

"I don't know. I thought I saw her earlier." 

"How is she doing?" 

I could hear the concern in his voice. 

"Honestly, I think she's doing okay. When I first saw her at the orphanage she was extremely skinny. She's been gaining her weight back and she looks really healthy now. Her nightmares stopped after the first night. I wish I would've found her sooner Jared. She was cutting herself."

"Oh no...." 

"Yeah, but I don't think she's done it since. She seems a lot better, though." 

"That's great." 

"Of course it is. But, every once in awhile she still struggles. I can see it her face sometimes. She tries to hide it, but I can see it. She feels guilty." 

"But, there was nothing she could've done." 

"I know that, and I tell her that too, but it doesn't seem to work. It's just like Dean." 

"I guess that's something she'll have to learn to deal with herself." 

"Yeah, I guess. But that's not the only thing either. She never had a father growing up, so she missed out on a bunch of stuff. When she sees me doing stuff with Justice that she never got the chance to do, it really hurts her. I just don't know what to do." 

Jared patted him on the back with a solemn look. 

"I'm sure you'll figure out what to do." 

"Thanks." 

They both stood in silence for a minute thinking before Jensen spoke again. 

"I really have to thank you though. The reason she's here is because of you." 

I saw the look of concern on his face as he hoped Jensen didn't mean what he thought he did. 

"What do you mean?" Jared asked. 

"Bella, she... When I went into her room at the orphanage to help her pack I saw 'Always Keep Fighting' written all over her walls. I had asked her why your campaign name had been written all over her walls on the way home. She told me that anytime she felt like she was losing the battle she would write it on the wall until she felt better. I hadn't realized what it meant until I had found her that one day." 

I watched Jensen speak as his eyes became glossy with tears. He quickly pulled Jared into a tight hug. Jared's eyes filled with tears as well.

"Thank you, Jared," he whispered, the gratefulness evident in his voice. 

Tears filled my own eyes as I watched the scene in front of me. They pulled away and Jensen wiped his eyes at the same time that I did. 

"I better go see what she's doing. She seemed really excited to meet you, well, officially." 

They both laughed before I heard footsteps coming my way.
