Chapter 5

Previously on Open Your Heart, Chapter Four: And that is how we all slept on the floor because Sowon came home to find us jumping up and down on the furniture. We're totally doing it again.

Sinb POV

As the weekend passes by, I feel myself becoming anxious to see Jungkook. He couldn't push me to the ground like he did to Sohee, could he? Shaking my head from those thoughts I get in the car and bounce my knees during the car ride.

During the walk to class, I make sure I'm extremely close beside Umji and aware of my surroundings. I need to avoid him. Jungkook never showed up to class, I breathed a sigh of relief while I headed to gym class which happens to be outside today.

I greet some of my classmates and we warm up the usual routine. "Today we'll be doing our physical exam, which means lots of running and lots of sweat. Get into your positions!" my gym teacher tells us.

Thank goodness I packed a water bottle I mentally say and look at the bleachers. Wait! I forgot my water bottle on the kitchen table, I groan. Looks like I got to suck it up.

Once gym class is over, I'm heaving and trying to catch my breath. "Are you ok Sinb? You really pushed yourself hard out there" my coach asks. "I'm fine, just need to catch my breath," I say with a shaky voice and take a seat on the bench.

As I'm looking down at the ground still trying to breathe normally, a bottle of water is placed in front of my face. I look up to see Jimin.

"Thank you so much Jimin, you're a life saver," I say before drinking the cold water.

"I couldn't just watch my best friend suffer in this horrible heat," he says exaggeratedly.

"Wait a minute, why aren't you in class right now" I narrow my eyes at him. It was never like Jimin to skip class.

"Haha well you see, I was kind of busy following someone," he says avoiding eye contact. "

What? Why?" I say shocked.

"Well, there's someone I'm interested in".

"You haven't been interested in anyone since the incident" I reply. "I know, but I think I'm ready to give love another go," he says looking out into the field.

"That's great! If you ever need some advice, you know I'm always here to talk to" I say holding his hand.

"Thank you Sinb, it really means a lot". We spent the remainder of the time comfortably in silence.

"Bitch who the hell do you think you are acting like a queen ever since Jungkook noticed you? He only did it because he felt bad for you. I mean look at you! You look like a beggar." Sohee says in front of my face as soon as I entered the lunch room.

"You're the one who looks like the beggar, you're barely wearing a shirt. I don't care about Jungkook's opinion of me, he's all yours. But you better warn him about all the possible diseases you're carrying" I say with an innocent smile.

"You better watch your mouth tramp," she says as her face begins to turn red.

"You won't need to watch yours because there's always something inside your mouth" by now we have a whole crowd around us.

She brings her hand up and is about to hit me with it, it all happens too fast. Sohee who was standing right in front of me is now on the floor holding her wrist.

"If you ever land a hand on Sinb, I will kill you," Jungkook says standing in front of me, his back facing me. He turns around and searches my face.

"Are you alright? Are you hurt?" he asks worriedly. "No I'm fine, thank you" I reassure him. "What the fuck are you all looking at? SCRAM" he shouts to the crowd. Thinking he's talking to me, I begin to scramble away.

"Not you baby," he says while grabbing my hand. As he does this, I begin to feel the tingles again.

"Uh I'm really grateful for what you've done for me, so I'll just get going now," I say suddenly becoming interested looking at the floor.

"Look at me Sinb" he commands. I keep my head down. Finally having enough, he grips my chin with his index finger and thumb and makes me look at him straight in the eye. He looks right into my eyes and opens his mouth.

"I get that I'm a monster. I understand I will never be worthy of you. I understand I will never deserve you. I understand all of it. Sinb, you talked to me when you knew how monstrous I am. You could've kept the ring for yourself, but you didn't. I don't know what's happening to me, but all I know is, I want to be with you" he said whole heartily.

After Jungkook's confession. I was left speechless. My whole opinion of him was changed now, I'm conflicted.
