Previously on Open Your Heart, Chapter Twelve: And just like that, we spent the night kissing and laughing away. I couldn't ask for a better way to end the night.
Sinb's POV
Ever since I became Jungkook's girlfriend, he's been more loving every single day, and I love it. I love being the only person that can put a smile on his face. He's come to my locker every morning to give me my morning kiss and he spends almost every minute of the day with me. I say almost because there are certain times when he leaves school, saying he has business to take care of. I didn't bother questioning him because this probably had something to do with his past. And I knew he wasn't ready to talk about it, so I didn't think it was that serious. So, I thought.
"Did you see Jungkook this morning?"
"He's so muscular, it's so attractive"
I couldn't help but ease drop on the girls that were beside my locker. The last sentence one of the girls said caught my attention.
"He looks so hot even with those bruises"
Bruises? I rush outside the lunchroom to see Jungkook leaning against his car talking to Best 6. I've never talked to the group, but I need to see Jungkook. Here goes nothing. I walk over to him and stand in front of him, the group goes silent.
"Jungkook, you're hurt" examining his face, I could see purple-ish bruises on his cheeks and minor cuts. I hold his face in my hands and lightly skim his face with my fingers.
"I'm okay baby, it's just a few bruises" I know I said I wouldn't question him, but now I had no choice.
"Why do you keep disappearing during school?" I could feel myself becoming upset.
"It's nothing, I'm fine" he's lying. If he's in a gang, then there must be fighting involved.
"You're street fighting aren't you?" I drop my hands from his face and take a step back.
"Yes, I am. It's no big deal" he says crossing his arms.
"It's no big deal?" I scoff
"So, you're telling me fighting is no big deal when you come back to school looking like this? You've got to be kidding me Jungkook" I notice his eyes darken.
"I might've changed for you, but it doesn't mean I'm changing how I am during outside of school or when I'm not with you. I like fighting and I'll keep doing it"
The tension in the air was thick now.
"Okay you go ahead and keep doing it, but while you are, don't bother coming to see me. I like it that way and that's how it's gonna be" I'm not trying to be a smartass but if Jungkook's putting his life on the line to do this then I'll have to talk to him this way.
"Fine, go ahead I don't give a fuck. Just go back to your friends, it's not like you're useful to me" once he said that I saw the regret in his eyes and he quickly uncrossed his arms to pull me into him.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean-" I cut him off.
"I think you've said enough Jungkook, I don't want to see your face. Don't bother looking for me" I turn around ignoring his calls and wiping my eyes with my sleeves. And to think I could change Jungkook just like that.
The rest of the day, I tried my hardest to avoid Jungkook. I didn't care if he was mad or stressed when he was talking to me, his words were dug deep into my heart.
I walked outside after school with Umji and we began to walk towards the car Yuju and Eunha were already in. I heard my name being called and I turned around to see Hoseok.
"Sinb listen, Jungkook didn't mean anything he said. He has anger issues and he's never learned how to deal with them" Hoseok said stopping me from walking. I tell Umji to go ahead, I would meet her in the car.
"It's getting really annoying having Jungkook's friends come up to me to fix Jungkook's mistakes. Why can't he ever do anything himself?"
"Because he doesn't know how this couple thing works. He's been fighting since the age of 12, it's not my place to tell you why. But please give him a chance to reconcile with you, I've never seen him so happy every time he comes home. Hell, I've never seen him happy in his life"
How could he be fighting since the age of 12? No, that's not the point right now. I don't want this whole relationship having his friends coming up to me everytime we get into a fight.
"I get that you're his friend Hoseok, but your words are yours, not Jungkook's. I need some time away from him, please understand that"
"I understand, but please think about Jungkook's problems. He's never had an easy life" right now, I can tell Jungkook's lucky to have Hoseok as a friend.
"I'll think about it but I gotta get going now, my friends are waiting for me" I say looking down at my watch. Yerin was taking all of us out for dinner to celebrate her job promotion.
"Okay, thanks for at least listening Sinb. Have a good day!" Hoseok says becoming extremply cheery and walking away but not without waving bye. I wave back and get into the car.
"What was that about?" Yuju asks as I put on my seatbelt.
"It's a long story, I'll tell you during dinner" they don't bring up the topic again and begin to talk about other things. It took my mind off of him for a while.
"So you're telling me, Jungkook still has his bad boy habits and doesn't plan on changing. Ever." Sowon says while wiping her mouth.
Once we got home from school, we waited for Sowon to get off work and we went to a nearby restaurant to eat dinner. That's when I decided to tell them everything that happened at lunch.
"Yes, that's exactly what I'm telling you" replying back to her finishing my last bite of food on the plate.
"I expected this to happen before you even started dating. Jungkook's been a gang member for so many years, it's not a surprise he would have these kind of problems. But what he did say to you, could have no excuse to it" Yerin says adding to our conversation.
"I agree with Yerin, but something wrong could have happened at the street fight. That's why he came to school with a bruised face" Umji debates with Yerin.
"I don't know anything about his story, but I hate the idea of him even being in a gang. Yet I still put up with it because I want to be with Jungkook. I should've known I would be facing these problems after getting involved with him" my liking for Jungkook is still stronger than my hatred for his reputation, but I'm not sure how long it'll be like that.
"Maybe you should rethink about becoming a couple with Jungkook, maybe being friends is better" Yuju chirps in.
"Remember Sinb, you'll be in a lot of different relationships, so don't think this will be your final one. You and Jungkook may not be together forever" Eunha states.
With all these opinions, it makes me less anxious. Because it's true, Jungkook may not be the man I marry. But I'm not going to give up on us too easily. Although, it doesn't mean I'll forgive him that easily.
"Thank you for all the support, I'll really think about it on my own time. But right now, we gotta celebrate Yerin's promotions!" I holler out loud.
"Hell yeah, let's get this party going," Yerin says chugging down her beer.
I know I'm in for one hell of a hangover, at least there's no school tomorrow. Which means no Jungkook but alone time for me.
What do you guys like Jungkook calling Sinb?
I like the names baby and baby girl, that's why I included them in the story.
