I woke up to the sound of Keefe gasping. Everything seemed fuzzy, until he came into focus. He was curled up into a ball, his hands tight fists pushing into his head.
"Keefe? Keefe, what's wrong?" I asked frantically trying to pull his hands away from his head.
He let out a loud moan, and I felt hopeless.
Then it all stopped, and slowly I moved his hands from his face. He looked up at me with wide, scared, blue eyes. He didn't say anything, but he was breathing heavily. His eyes scanned the room quickly, before settling on my face.
"Are you okay?" I whispered, my hands on either side of his face.
He hesitated, giving me an uneasy confused look, and nodded his head.
"Why wouldn't I be?" He asked slowly.
"You were, and then, what? How?" I rambled confused, not sure of what to say.
"Are you okay?" He asked eyeing me cautiously.
"You really don't remember?" I asked, now I was really freaking out.
"Remember what?" He asked.
"You-you just were screaming, and you were in a lot of pain. You were holding your head, like really tightly, or whatever. You don't remember any of that?" I asked concern lacing my voice.
"No, are you sure you didn't dream it?" He asked.
"Positive," I said, still analyzing him.
He looked at me for a long time before he said suddenly, "Gah."
And he was in the fetal position, bellowing in agony. His hands were cradling his head again, and this time the screaming didn't stop.
"Help! Somebody help!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, pounding on the crystal.
Keefe's screams got louder, and he actually started sobbing. I rushed back to him, kneeling at his side, trying to get his hands away from his head.
"Sophie? Sophie what's wrong?" I heard Dex scream.
"It's Keefe, he won't stop screaming," I rushed out, still trying to help him.
"Keefe? What's he doing--"
"No time to explain, I think he has the virus," I shouted.
I heard Dex pounding on his glass, screaming for someone to come and help.
"You're going to be okay, okay?" I asked frantically trying to hush Keefe.
He just whimpered and clutched his head even tighter.
I concentrated on the love and happiness he made me feel, and I inflicted it onto him, trying to calm him down.
His screams died down to soft little whimpers, and I let out a sigh of relief. Then the screaming started up again.
Soon people in special gear entered the room, I completely forgot about Dex, who was screaming at the top of his lungs.
"SOPHIE NEEDS HELP!" He screamed over and over again, creating a lot of noise.
Then my door was opened, and they gasped.
"What's he doing here? Is he infected? How'd he get past security? Is that Keefe Sencen? I thought he was abducted?" Many voices spat out.
"Help him!" I demanded, now becoming hysterical.
"He's infected alright," Someone said.
