In the beginning he may have wanted her to go to Exillium because he wanted to challenge her, push her, or maybe he wanted to push her away so she wouldn't ever know he was her father.
Then how he is always 'mysteriously' on her side.....
And then from the newest book
He says something like you don't know me as well as you think. He's also an inflicter and so is Sophie.
I don't know, I just think he could be her biological father.
