I stood by my floor length mirror, struggling to secure the back ties on my dress. There was a quick knock on my door. I held the front of my dress as I opened the door just a crack. Harry smiled as he stood, wearing a jacket matching the red of my dress, a white button down, and black pants. "Don't you clean up nice. I'm almost ready, just trying to tie the back of my dress." I laughed, letting him in. He closed the door behind him and smiled at me. "Let me help. I'm pretty good at tying knots, you know." he smirked.

He came from behind and knotted up the middle ties of my dress. Once he was done, he placed a quick kiss on my shoulder, making me blush. "T-thanks." I said, breathless. "Lead the way, Vee." he said with a cheeky smile. I laughed and grabbed my small bag before leading him out to the courtyard. Everyone was dressed really nicely and looked really good. Harry offered me his arm, which I took as we walked along the grass. "How were the fencing tryouts?" I asked, looking up at him. "They were okay. I did well, it's just Jay's attitude. I feel like he doesn't want me there. I kinda don't blame him. We have a rocky past." he admitted.

"I'm sure things will patch up as time passes. So you're on the team?" I asked. He nodded and slightly smiled. I was happy he was finally getting involved in something that he could put his energy towards.  "Congrats. You're doing pretty good, Harry." I smiled up at him. "Mostly because of you." he laughed, making me giggle. "I'm great, what can I say?" I shrugged sarcastically. "Vee!" yelled someone from behind me. We turned to see Evie and Doug. I smiled and waved. "Hey Doug, Hey Evie, you guys look so good." I smiled. "As do you! My girl really is the best dress designer in Auradon." said Doug, wrapping an arm around Evie and making her blush.

"Wow Evie, you made this? You're really talented." said Harry, eyes wide. "Thanks, Harry. I don't know if you've met Doug?" she asked. "Nice to meet you." smiled Harry, giving him a fist bump. "Same to you. How're you enjoying school so far?" wondered Doug. "It's been pretty good. I was pretty skeptical at first, but things seem to be lining up." he answered honestly. "Harry joined the fencing team, but things are a little rocky with Jay, as expected." I sighed. "I've tried talking to him. You know how stubborn he can be." said Evie, shaking her head. "Well, we'll see you guys later. I'm gonna grab something to drink." I said with a smile, waving and walking off with Harry.

"I think I'm gonna try to talk to Jay. Truth be told, I can be a huge dick and I was really terrible to him on the Isle." admitted Harry. "Whatever you feel like doing. What's your history with Mal?" I wondered, raising an eyebrow. "We kinda dated for a little. We were both really young, it's just kinda awkward now." he replied as we walked up to the refreshment table. I let go of his arm and started pouring myself a drink. "What'll it be, sailor?" I joked, making him laugh. "Punch is good." he said, thanking me as I passed him a cup. "Hey guys." said a voice to the left. We saw Carlos and Jane, hand in hand. "Hey." I smiled, taking a sip of my drink.

"I heard you're on the fencing team, congrats." said Carlos with a with a sincere smile. "Thanks, man." said Harry with a nod. "Jane, how's the homecoming planning coming?" I asked. She laughed, shaking her head. "So much to do, so much to plan. I could use an extra hand. Would you be interested?" she wondered. I contemplated her offer and nodded. "That could be fun. We haven't hung out in so long!" I noted, to which she nodded. "I'll let you know, but we should start ordering stuff next week." she stated. "I'll stay posted. Can't wait" I giggled. The two waved before walking off, leaving Harry and I alone again. I looked out onto the courtyard, seeing everyone having a good time, mingling with each other.

"I'm seriously really happy you're finding everything okay here, that you've found something you like." I mumbled, taking his arm again as we began to walk. "You were a great tour guide." he laughed. I looked across the lawn and saw Jay glaring over at us, making me frown. We walked down to the garden which had a small maze. My dress flowed with every step I took. I smiled as the butterflies flew around us. "I love this garden." I said, admiring the flowers along the wall of the maze. Harry smiled over at me as we finally exited, and led me over to where Ben and Mal stood. "Hey, Ben. I think we sorta started off on the wrong foot. I'm happy to be here." admitted Harry. "We're happy to have you." nodded Ben with a sincere smile. Mal didn't seem as convinced, but she smiled politely anyways.

"How's the art club going, Mal?" I asked, scratching the back of my neck. "Really great, actually. We have a couple of things lined up which are pretty cool." she said. "Ben, I was wondering if I could talk to you for a minute?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. He nodded and walked a few steps away with me. "What's up?" he asked, crossing his arms. "So, I've been trying to get Harry acquainted and everything, but Jay is really pissed that I'm friends with Harry. What should I do?" I wondered, biting my lip. "Well, maybe he'll warm up to the idea? I know they're gonna see a lot of each other with the fencing team so maybe they'll bond over that." he reasoned. "I hope so, Jay is just so stubborn. We usually hang out all the time and now I barely see him." I sighed. "Give him some time, maybe try hanging out just the two of you." he advised.

We walked back over to Harry and Mal, who seemed to be having a sincere conversation. "I'll see you later, Harry. Bye Vee." she said, waving and grabbing Ben's hand before walking away. "I take it that didn't go very well?" I laughed. "Better than expected. I'm over this party anyways, wanna bounce?" he asked, looking down at me. "Lead the way." I shrugged, following him away from the lawn. I followed closely behind him until we made it to the lockers. My heels clacked as we walked along the concrete, just the two of us. Before I realized what was happening, he pushed me against the lockers and smashed his lips against mine. Holy...shit. This was real life. This was happening. He pulled away with a cheeky smirk as I stood there in shock. "I've been waiting to do that since the second I saw you." he winked.
