chapter three - first day of class

There was a harsh knock on my door. It was the first morning of classes, and I had just finished getting ready. I opened the door hesitantly and was pushed back when someone stormed in. That someone turned out to be Harry. "These classes are garbage." he said, holding up his schedule. "Well, I told you we had to pick them yesterday and you didn't." I answered, crossing my arms. 

He smiled devilishly, putting the paper down on my desk. "You know, if you wanted to see me again, you could've just asked." he chuckled. I blushed intently and shook my head. "Tell me what classes you want and I'll make the c-changes." I stuttered. He laughed to himself and plucked a pen from my pencil pouch. He leaned over the desk, scribbling over the paper. I admired him as he picked his classes. The muscles in his arm moved with every word he wrote, every line he made. 

I bit my lip and looked away, cleaning up my makeup that I had out from getting ready. He cleared his throat, and I turned to see him standing and holding out the paper. I took it from his hand and he began to walk out when he stopped in his tracks. "Almost forgot." he said, pulling my pen from his mouth and handing it to me. He winked and closed the door behind him as he walked out. 

I let out the breath I didn't even realize I was holding in. What was this guy doing to me? I shook my head and grabbed my things before walking over to the office to submit the schedule changes. Once everything was finalized, they made me take his new schedule to him. Great, another opportunity to have him render me mute. I examined the schedule in my hand, and sighed when I realized all the classes we had together. 

"Thanks, universe." I groaned. I walked down the long hallway and smiled when I saw Evie exiting her room. "Hey." I waved. She looked up at me and smiled. "Excited for the first day of classes?" she asked. "Hardly." I giggled. She looked down at the piece of paper in my hand quizzically. "It's Harry's schedule." I explained, to which she nodded. "I hope he's not here to take advantage of Ben's generosity. Auradon was the best thing that happened to us, and he shouldn't be taking that for granted." she sighed. 

"I like to hope for the best in people." I reasoned. "I hope that's enough to make it a reality. Things tend to go south when he's around." she advised. "Jay warned me about that last night." I nodded. "Well, I've gotta run. Come see me later, I have an awesome idea for a dress for you for the garden party next week." she giggled. We said our goodbyes before she jetted off to class. I finally got to Harry's door, which he had carved a little hook on next to the handle. 

I knocked unenthusiastically, and he opened the door after quite a while. "Oh, you're back. How sweet." he smirked. "Here's your schedule." I said flatly, passing it to him. "Lovely, lovely. Oh, look at that. I'm late on the first day." he laughed. "So am I. We have the same class." I said, crossing my arms. "Wow, I'm already helping you break the rules. How does it feel?" he asked dramatically, closing the door behind him. 

We began to walk towards the classrooms. "I don't need your help to break rules, Harry." I rolled my eyes. "Oh, a bit of a troublemaker?" he asked, smiling down at me. I shrugged, walking up to our chemistry class and opening the door. "Venus, Harry, how nice of you to grace our presence. Take a seat." said Mr. Deley angrily. We walked towards the back of the class and plopped down on two empty stools. 

"Venus?" Harry snickered. "Shut up." I seethed, rolling my eyes. "What? It's cute." he smirked, looking back towards the front of the class. I blushed and bit my lip, focusing on Mr. Deley and trying my hardest to ignore Harry's entire existence. To say it was a challenge would be an understatement. I knew he was dangerous, and I knew he had me in the palm of his hand. Why did I not care? Why was I still so drawn to him?
