I woke up to Harry trailing kisses from my collarbone, up my neck, to the top of my forehead. "Morning sunshine." he said, smiling widely. I wrapped my arms around his neck and smiled, meeting his lips with mine. He kissed me back, pulling me closer and rubbing my back. "So, you didn't tell me. But your good friend Jay was kind enough to reveal the importance of today." said Harry, pulling away. I groaned and laughed, covering my face with my hands. "Remind me to kill Jay." I mumbled with a giggle. I looked at Harry through my fingers, who was poking my sides lightly and trying to tickle me.

"Happy birthday, love." he mumbled, taking my hand and kissing the top of it. "Thank you, sir." I giggled, pecking his lips lightly. "Since today is a momentous occasion, we've got lots to do." he said, running his fingers through my hair. "I'd rather stay here." I mumbled, hiding my face in his chest. He engulfed me in his arms and kissed the top of my head. "I suppose some of the festivities can get pushed back for an hour or two." he nodded. "Babe, all I want is to be with you." I whispered, looking up at him. He kissed me softly, taking my face in his hand and stroking my cheek with his thumb. I smiled into the kiss, moaning happily. "You're absolutely all I need." I said in between kisses.

"Harry, please. I don't want any special attention." I groaned, trying to pull him back to my room. "Relax, we're just going to get dinner." he said, dragging me forwards. I followed him unwillingly towards the cafeteria. He intertwined our fingers and smiled down at me. "Why are you being so stubborn?" he laughed. "It's just, my parents used to make a big deal out of my birthday before I moved here and now I sort of hate it." I admitted, rubbing my thumb over the outside of his hand. "Well, I'll do my best to keep you happy." he smiled. We walked up to the cafeteria and opened the doors.

I was immediately shocked when all my friends were standing there, yelling "Surprise!". I laughed in shock, covering my face. "Oh my god, you guys scared me!" I said. Everyone laughed and hugged me. It was the best party I could've asked for. It was small, just my close friends, and we had pizza and ice cream. What more could a girl want. Evie and Doug were there, Jay and Carlos, even Ben and Mal had stopped by. I felt like I had sort of drifted from them because they were always so busy and had tension with Harry, but it was really cool that they had made the effort to come.

We sat and ate our pizza, talking about how everyone was doing and gossiping about different stories from around the kingdom. "I have something I want to say!" said Evie, standing from her chair. The chatter died down as we all looked up at her in anticipation. "Vee, you're so special. We all love you so much. You're always there for us and you're such a mellow presence to be around." she said, smiling down at me. I took her hand and squeezed it appreciatively. "And then, Harry got here and we were all sort of unfair to him. But you gave him a chance, despite what we told you." she continued.

"You have this ability to see the best in people and it's something that I envy and hope to achieve. Harry is a really great and lucky guy, and I'm so happy to see the two of you together. Happy birthday, Vee." she said, giggling and hugging me tightly. "Thanks Eves, love you." I said, hugging her back. Harry wrapped his arm around me and kissed my cheek, making me blush. I was so happy. It felt so good that my friends and Harry were getting along, that we were all thriving amongst each other. I felt so god damn lucky that Harry was mine.

Once we finished up eating our food, everyone went their separate ways after our goodbyes. Harry and I walked back to my room and crashed on the bed. "Let's sneak out tonight." he suggested. "And go where?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. "We can take a blanket and lay out on the beach." he suggested, rubbing my arm. I smiled and nodded, kissing him lightly. "Let's do it." I agreed. I rummaged through my closet and pulled out an old tapestry I used to have hung up on my wall. "We can sit on this." I said, holding it up.

I gathered my things before following him out of my room. We tip toed over to the end of the hallway, quickly opening the main doors and darting across the courtyard, staying low to avoid being seen. We ran around the corner and stopped in our tracks when we saw the dean walking to his office. Quickly, we jumped behind the nearest trash can and tried to contain our laughter. Once he was out of sight, we ran past the lockers and across the lawn to the parking area.

We hopped onto my scooter and drove to the beach near campus. It wasn't very far, only an eight minute drive with my scooter. I laughed as the wind hit my face, driving down the winding roads and up to the beach. I inhaled deeply once we were close enough that we could smell the salt water. I had a deep love for the beach. My family always took a trip during the winter break to travel to a beach and escape the cold. Maybe Harry could come with us. I parked on the edge of the sand and jumped off of my scooter, Harry following closely behind. We spread out the tapestry over the sand and put our stuff down.

"Wanna go for a swim?" I asked with a small giggle. "I didn't bring a bathing suit." he said, raising an eyebrow. "So?" I smirked, pulling my shirt over my head. He laughed as he watch me strip down to my underwear and did the same. "Jesus, Vee, you're out of control today." he joked. We ran out to the water and gasped at how cold it was. "Holy shit, this water is freezing!" I yelled, crossing my arms. He smirked before splashing me, covering me in the freezing water. I pouted as I looked up at him, my hair dripping on the sides of my face. "Baby, don't give me that look." he laughed, wrapping his arms around me.

I wrapped my legs around his waist and placed my arms around his neck. "Thank you for a great birthday." I mumbled, pecking his lips lightly. "I'm so fucking in love with you." he groaned, smashing his lips against mine. We held each other as our lips danced in the moonlight. I ran my fingers through his hair as I deepened the kiss. We pulled apart and headed back to the tapestry, laying down in each other's arms and admiring the stars. In that moment, I knew that no matter what, everything would be just fine.

AUTHOR'S NOTE

Hey guys, so I wanted to take the time to clear a few things up. I've been getting messages in my inbox with different questions so I've decided to clarify everything here.

- Do you write smut? While I have written smut in the past, I don't think I'll be writing any for this particular book. What do you guys think? Should I include a smut scene? The way I've written the book as is, it leaves a lot up to the imagination. I think Vee and Harry have sorta been fooling around since chapter eight, that's sort of the way I've imagined everything going. So, let me know in the comments below if you'd like a detailed/semi detailed smutty scene or nothing at all.

- Can you write (said request) into the book? This book is more of my vision, I know where I'm taking it and what I want the end result to be. I've had the full plot, including plot twists and endings, planned since I released the first chapter. If you'd like me to write something specifically, I have a Harry Hook imagines book where I take requests. I don't update as regularly as this book and my requests fill up quickly so if you'd like to request something stay on the lookout.

- Who are Vee's parents? I started off the series not really wanting to label Vee with a specific set of parents just so that I could develop her character in the way I wanted without having her familial ties interfere with her development. However, lots of you have been asking me where she's from. I believe that Vee is Rapunzel and Eugene's daughter. Her adventurous attitude tied with her sometimes rule breaking side matches them perfectly. I associate her name, which is celestial in origin, with Rapunzel's fascination with the sun.

- What are the characters' sexualities? I didn't really want to write my book and have anyone with any set sexuality. Vee isn't necessarily straight, neither is Harry. My characters have the ability to be with whoever they connect with romantically. That being said, I have decided to keep the relationships that have become cannon in the films. If they evolve past that during the story, that's totally okay too. I believe in equality and will always encourage queer characters in media because they're usually not represented well.
