Chapter 22

Catrina's POV

I wake up having the urge to bother Caleb. I run to his room and jump on his bed. "CALEB!" I yell when he doesn't move. I shake him but he doesn't budge. "Caleb.." I say looking at him for a second. I put my hand under his nose and hold it there. I don't feel air coming out and I freeze. Tears rush down my face as I run downstairs. "MOM! DAD!!" I yell crying hysterically. My mom comes out of the kitchen. "What's wrong Cat?" She asks worried. "I.. I tried to w-wake Caleb up b-but he didn't move. He- He's not Br-ea- breathing!" I say collapsing on the floor as I continue to cry. My mom runs upstairs and into Caleb's room. "ANNIE HAYLEY CAT IN THE CAR NOW!" My mom yells running downstairs with Caleb in her arms. I get in the car followed by my sisters. My mom drives to the hospital and goes to the E.R. We get in a room instantly and a doctor comes in. They hook Caleb up to machines. After a while the doctor pulls my mom out of the room. I hear her sobs when she comes back in. The doctor looks at me with sorrow. Mom takes my hand and takes me out of the room. "Caleb... He's... gone." She says. I cry harder. "NOOO!" I yell running back in the room and holding Caleb's hand. "Come on bubba. You can do it. Breathe Bubba. BREATHE!!! DON'T DIE ON ME!! Not now!!" I yell crying harder then I've ever cried before. "CALEB!" I yell laying my head on his chest listening for a heartbeat. Nothing. Annie and Hayley look at me confused. My mom pulls Annie aside. She comes back in crying and standing next to me. "Caleb." I cry not letting go of his hand. Hayley joins us as we look at our brother. Dead. Jake comes running into the room and hugs me. "He's.. He's gone." I say as my crying slows. He hugs me tighter. "I'm so sorry." He says as a tear rolls down his cheek. I wipe the tear and look back at Caleb. He looked so peaceful. Like he was sleeping. But he wasn't. He was gone. Forever.
