"Okay it's time for roll call so everyone shut the hell up," Courtney said loudly and all of a sudden the attention was on her. "Good. We need to make sure everyone is here so that no one is confused when Jade and I go over the plan for the party. We go in alphabetical order so if your name starts with a Z just be patient." she said and held up her clipboard.

"Andrew."

"Here."

"Ben."

"Here."

"Brandon."

"Uh-huh."

"Cassidy."

"Here."

"Damien."

"Here."

"Daniel."

"Here."

"Dylan."

"Well, of course, I'm here."

"Shut up. Emily?"

"Here."

"Well, then we're good! Let's begin: the party starts at 6 PM, same time Ethan gets home. But Ethan also has a gun, so like be careful. Dylan and Ethan walk in through the front door, turn on the light, we all yell surprise. Party starts, whatever. Dylan, I need you to make sure that Ethan doesn't try to kill us when we scare the crap outta 'em." Jade said and Dylan chuckled and nodded. "Sure doll. Just don't scream too loud okay?" he said with a smirk and she tilted her head with her prettiest smile. "Of course baby," Jade said sweetly and they both laughed and Emily's face rose with confusion. "Alright, is the cake ready Mom?" Jade asked and she perked up with a smile. "Yes! I think it looks just beautiful. I put it in the fridge at Cashman's. Is that alright?" she asked and Jade looked at Courtney. "The fridge is bigger." she shrugged and she nodded. "Okay, well then the cake is done. The food has been ordered. Brandon is the DJ, we're really all good aren't we?" she chuckled and set down her clipboard. "What now?" Cassidy said. "Now we wait I guess, make sure everything is ready."

Jade shrugged and looked at Daniel who had been staring at her for a while. She shook her head and walked to the kitchen, stealing a tortilla chip and shoving it in the seven-layer bean dip she bought. Daniel walked over to her and sat at the island, waiting for her to notice. She scrolled through her phone for a while, tapping her finger and scratching at her hair before looking up and flinching. "Oh God! Sorry, I didn't know you were there!" she said apologetically and he smiled. "That's alright darling," he said simply and she grew amused, chuckling at his consistent simplicity.

"Are you as excited as I am?" she smiled and chomped on another tortilla chip. "I think so. I'm just...interested....in how Ethan will react. He's had birthday parties before, but he never really liked them very much. He was always a bit sad during the party, and afterwards, he just went into his room and cry until we came in. I feel as if something was missing. Do you think you know?" he explained and she was taken back by all of the information she was given. "Uh, seven-layer bean dip?" she asked and Daniel had the most genuine smile on his face.
