After asking Ava if she's going too-which she says yes- we all start getting ready, leaving our doors slightly ajar so we can yell at each other for random things. It almost feels like we're a unit. Almost.
Quickly having a shower and freshening up i feel much better than I have since getting here- I'm hoping with all my heart that everything will be okay this party. It makes me shaky just to try and think of all the things that could go wrong.
"Ava?" I call softly, unsure if she'll help me.
She comes in within seconds, "You okay?" Concern edging her voice, her hair is still wet from her shower, but left in a braid going down her back, with some flowers clipped in for effect- it's gorgeous, making my blow-dried hair feel stupid and inadequate in respect.
"I'm not sure what to wear. I'm sorry for interrupting -"
"Don't be ridulous, lemme look at your wardrobe." And with that she goes in my walk in and shifts through the clothes my Aunt shipped over and the clothes I brought and hung up before getting ready.
"Oh my God, please let me borrow some of this it's gorgeous!" Ava gushes from somewhere inside the wardrobe.
"Sure." I say taken aback- I mean she's got more style in her pinky than I do in my whole body I bet.
"Where'd you get this scarf?" She comes out, holding a small cotton, pale pink scarf with different coloured butterflies and bloomed flowers it, the scarf is long so you can wrap it around your neck plenty of times before it's anywhere near done. I love it, it's one of my favourites.
I smile at Ava as I tell her, "I got it from Malaysia as a souvenir from our stay there. It was amazing, I totally recommend going there." I trail off as I remember our stay there.
"What did you do there?" Ava asks in awe, so I tell her, as she holds onto the scarf. Once I'm done listing the fun we had there she states, "You definitely need to wear this, it's a great conversation starter if nothing else." She hands it to me before going back inside. "Did you travel a lot then?"
"Since I was little."
" I did wonder, your voice is kinda layered in accents - like it's clearly british, but then you have some American in there and some other things that show on certain words,or from what I've heard anyway. I wanted to travel the world when I was little. " Her voice trails off wistfully, before staying silent.
"Why can't you?" I ask before remembering that there's such a thing as a filter- I should really try it sometime. "Sorry -"
"I am not a traveller. I get very sick. " her time clearly says end of discussion and I keep my mouth firmly shut, worried to say another thing wrong.

She comes out a few minutes later and hands me some clothes. "These will be amazing!" She says cheerily , though it doesn't exactly reach her eyes.
As she goes to leave I say "Ava...I'm really sorry."
She turns her head and gives me a sad smile. "It is what it is. It sucks but hey ho. I'm sure you have plenty of stories you can tell me. I'm happy how I am." With that she leaves me to get dressed.
"If you wanna borrow make-up or hair products you can." Ava yells through the door.
"Thank you!" Uma and I shout back in unison.
